We are seeking a Senior Information Systems Analyst to join Valley Water’s Information Technologies team. The Sr. Information Systems Analyst is responsible for advanced networking and server virtualization in both our Corporate and Scada (Industrial) networks. They are expected to have advanced analytical/problem solving skills, perform highly complex configurations, extensive experience in advanced networking/server deployments, IT SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), Cybersecurity experience, SaaS deployments, and PaaS deployments. They should also have extensive experience with maintain highly complex environments in a variety of infrastructures.
 
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Test, implement, and maintain highly complex configurations/gear for core network switches, routers, firewalls, PaaS, and monitoring devices.
• Test, implement, and maintain highly complex configurations/gear for virtualized, physical servers, and SaaS environments.
• Perform Monitoring of advanced Networking and Server based devices, evaluate IT/OT SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), cybersecurity concerns, perform critical vulnerability patching, maintaining our systems to avoid impacting operational uptime, and perform security upgrades.
• Perform research into new highly complex technologies to increase the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness including POCs of these technologies.
• Act as project manager and technical lead for in the design, development, and maintenance of the most complex Valley Water applications.
• Confer with end user and define application requirements; recommend and develop solutions; conduct cost/benefit analyses; prepare justification for new or enhanced modifications; ensure that recommendations comply with Valley Water standards and conventions; Research and evaluate systems for technical fit and fit for purpose and fit for use for the business.
• Develop written technical documentation, internal operating procedures, and user manuals and instructions; develop instructional materials and conduct training programs on new or enhanced applications; update technical and training manuals as required.
• Serve as a technical resource lead for maintaining, enhancing, and upgrading the department’s current and long-term computer system operations.

Ideal Experience:

• Six (6) years of increasingly responsibility of enterprise grade networks, virtualized server infrastructure, Cybersecurity, IT/OT SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), PaaS, or SaaS software applications programming and analysis experience
• Expertise in supporting networking and server virtualization solutions. 
• Expertise in system configurations and maintaining complex infrastructure across corporate and industrial networks adept at handling SAAS and PAAS deployments. Versed in IT/OT SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and Cybersecurity.
• Proficient in configuring and maintaining core network switches, routers, firewalls, PaaS, and monitoring devices.
• Extensive experience with virtualized and physical server configurations, including SaaS and PAAS environments.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and IT/OT SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) principles, with a track record of monitoring and patching vulnerabilities to ensure system integrity.
• Demonstrated ability to research and evaluate new technologies, including conducting proof-of-concept projects to enhance organizational efficiency.
• Proven project management skills, with experience leading the design, development, and maintenance of complex applications.

In this role, you will perform skilled inspection work with City residential housing inspection programs. The City of San José is recruiting for a Finance Applications Associate IT Manager (Enterprise Principal Technology Analyst) in the Information Technology Department. This position is responsible for the management and support of the City's enterprise Finance Management System, Revenue Management/Collection System, and Finance Reporting System. This position combines managerial and leadership responsibilities along with hands-on technical expertise to deliver day-to-day system operations. Key job duties are service level management, including service level agreements (SLAs) and Incident Management, as well as delivery of smaller projects and system enhancements. The Finance Applications Associate IT Manager is also responsible for resource and performance management of the Finance Applications IT Team.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Senior Solid Waste Supervisor in the Zero Waste Division of the Public Works Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Zero Waste Operations Manager and the Solid Waste Supervisor(s) on a daily basis to ensure that all operations are carried out safely and in compliance with environmental obligations. In addition, this role oversees the onboarding and recurring training programs for Solid Waste Workers and Drivers; interacts with the Division Manager to implement initiatives, policies, and procedures; and works closely to resolve customer service issues that arise at the council level.

The Senior Solid Waste Supervisor also works closely with peers across all operations to ensure consistent safety and operational standards and performance. Furthermore, this position leads the implementation of new routing and customer data management systems, participates in equipment purchase committees, and determines the staffing and resources needed to achieve desired operational goals.

Assistant Planner - This is the entry-level class within the professional Planner series. This class is distinguished from the journey level by the performance of more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within this series. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees have only limited or no directly related professional planning work experience. Employees work under general supervision while learning job tasks.


Incumbents may advance from the Assistant Planner to the Associate Planner level based on a recommendation by their supervisor and approval from the Director of Development Services or designee. Advancement may result after the incumbent gains sufficient knowledge and experience in professional Planning work, as well as City and departmental practices and procedures, to be able to consistently perform the work of the higher classification.

Essential Duties

What you will do:  
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

Research, analyze and interpret social, economic, population and land use data, trends and reports.

Prepare and present written reports on various planning matters such as elements of the general plan, neighborhood plans, demographic or housing analysis, code amendments, and miscellaneous land use studies.

Prepare and/or monitor preparation of environmental documents including environmental analyses of development impacts and related preparation of negative declarations and/or environmental impact reports; work with consultants in facilitating preparation of environmental impact reports and related findings and documentation.

Review building, site and architectural plans, use permits, zone changes, variances, development proposals, applications and other related documents for conformance to City standards and other applicable state and federal rules and regulations; serve as primary point of contact to developers and property owners in meeting these standards.

Prepare and update maps, graphs and other graphics for use in reports and public presentations.

Review and analyze development proposals and work with developers, the public and other agencies regarding various land use permits, general plan amendments, and zone changes.

Provide information to the public, developers, public officials and staff members about land use matters to clarify and assure conformance to city and state policies and regulations regarding zoning and other development controls, acceptable development proposals, compatibility with adopted plans and environmental impacts.

Make presentations to the Planning Commission, City Council, and other interested parties regarding land use applications, general plan amendments, zoning changes, code amendments, and special studies.

Analyze, interpret and apply regional, state, and federal regulations.

Coordinate ongoing planning related programs or projects involving multi-department and multi-jurisdictional cooperation; provide professional planning guidance in responding to questions or inquiries.

Attend and serve on intra-departmental and inter-agency planning committees.

Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.

About the Position: The Planning Department is seeking two interns who are interested in learning about open space conservation and planning for ecologically sensitive recreation. Basic Requirements: Internships are open to applications from current students or recent graduates (within the last 12 months). Successful candidates will have a background in the natural sciences, park/open space management, land use/environmental planning, GIS/geography, biology, ecology, or another related field; and experience with field data collection techniques. This internship requires strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with a team. Experience with MS Outlook, MS Word and Excel, ArcGIS software, GPS equipment, Microsoft Excel, and Apple iPads is desired, and familiarity with Midpen preserves/trails as well as local flora, fauna, and natural history are a plus.   Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license is required. Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions: This position will report to the Planning Department at the Administrative Office in Los Altos, California.  Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work environment for this position, which will be divided between onsite work, field visits, and limited home office work.  Fieldwork is conducted in rural or mountainous Midpen open space areas, which may involve working alone or with another intern in wildland areas, traversing rough difficult terrain sometimes with poison oak and dense vegetation, and carrying equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. This is a temporary position working 20 – 40 hours per week, which will extend up to a total of 950 hours over a 6-9 month period. This is a non-benefited position.
