The City of Marysville is hiring for a total of 1 Engineer position, and create an Employment List.

Performs advanced firefighting and rescue activities; operates and maintains the entire range of Fire Department vehicles, apparatus, equipment, and facilities; drives large fire apparatus in various traffic conditions; provides emergency medical and rescue services to the community; and performs related duties and responsibilities as required. The Fire Engineer receives direct supervision from the Fire Captain. This classification may be assigned temporary command of a fire station and may exercise functional supervision over staff during the assigned shift.

Performs tasks requiring: strength and stamina, such as lifting and moving equipment and objects weighing up to 100 pounds; pushing or pulling objects of up to 100 pounds; sitting, standing, walking on uneven or slippery surfaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, turning, stooping, squatting, grasping and crawling; ascending and descending stairs and ladders; working both inside and outside with exposure to extreme weather conditions, odors, dust and pollen; exposure to chemicals, skin irritants, fumes and solvents; frequent hand and arm motion; hand and finger dexterity sufficient to use small tools; turning and bending the neck; the ability to see well enough to read gauges, documents and street maps; accurate depth perception; the ability to communicate verbally, including projecting a voice that can be heard in a noisy environment; the ability to hear and distinguish various sounds, such as alarms, voices of co- workers, and warning horns or sirens in both quiet and noisy environments; the ability to stand, walk, bend , and reach at, above or below shoulder height for extended periods of time; sustained concentration and prolonged commitment to job tasks; interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team; high level cognitive, interpretive and judgement skills; ability to demonstrate flexibility in the work environment, performing a variety of frequently changing tasks; ability to plan, negotiate, direct, control and monitor other’s activities and the ability to work alone effectively under stress in situations dangerous to self or others.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is conducted both in a fire station and in the field in various settings. Some of these include exposure to smoke, odors, heat, steam, fumes, and dust, as well as periodic exposure to dangerous or life-threatening situations. Work involves irregular hours during days and evenings, on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently recruiting for two full-time Animal Care Services Officer. Under close supervision, incumbents enforces State and County laws regarding stray, dangerous, rabid, nuisance and unwanted domestic animals; investigates complaints; patrols assigned areas; captures animals; removes dead animals from public and private properties; assist in feeding and cleaning animal enclosures; assist with euthanizations and disposal of animals in a humane and prescribed method and performs other duties related to humane animal protection and control; performs related work as assigned including assisting the public with drop off, pick up and adoption of animals as necessary.  This is a working level class in animal control, responsible for enforcing applicable regulations in a limited public officer capacity. Successful performance of the work requires skill in dealing with the public in difficult situations as well as a willingness to handle animals that may be injured or ill.

Animal Care Services is a division of the Sheriff's Department.  Animal Care Services provides services for the unincorporated areas of Yuba County and is located in Olivehurst, California.  Animal Care Services care for lost animals, injured and abandon animals, and a provide variety of services that protect both citizens and animals. Most importantly, they keep lost pets safe and happy so they can be reunited with their owner or adopted into a new family.

The San Jose Fire Department is currently seeking to fill one ( 1 ) full-time Analyst I/II vacanc y in the Office of the Fire Chief (OFC).

Salary range ( s ) for this classification is/ are:
• Analyst I: $85,525.44 - $103,958.40
• Analyst II: $93,344.16 - $113,436.96

This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

T he Analyst I/II is an onsite position l ocated at Fire Administration in the Office of the Fire Chief (OFC) which reports directly to the Safety Program Manager. The OFC oversees and supports all organizational divisions including five distinct bureaus: Administrative Services, Support Services, Fire Prevention, Emergency Medical Services and Training, and Field Operations; and the Fire Communications Division. The Safety Program Manager oversees the Department's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Workers' Compensation, Health and Wellness and supports the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team.

The Analyst I/II position will primarily oversee the Workers' Compensation functions, acting as the liaison between injured employees, the Department, and the Workers' Compensation third-party administrator. In addition to Workers' Compensation, the Analyst I/ II is responsible fo r supporting other critical administrative functions as assigned.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure Workers' Compensation claims are submitted within required timelines and act as the Department Liaison to the City's third-party Workers' Compensation administrator.
• Maintain contact with injured employees, ensure the Department has current, updated work statuses for each employee and update the Department's internal staffing tool to ensure employee work statuses are accurately reflected.
• Coordinate the return of employees to work in either a modified duty or regular duty capacity with all involved Department bureaus.
• Act as the Department Liaison with the City's Disability Retirement Committee and Human Resources Workers' Compensation Division, including attendance at monthly meetings.
• Maintain internal recordkeeping and spreadsheets for Supervisor's Accident Investigation Reports (SAIR), Annual Physicals, OSHA 300A Logs, Conversion Sheets for compliance of pay period hours, and Modified Duty and Disability statuses as well as manage personnel records and retention schedules.

• Upon successful completion of the Public Safety Officer Academy Attendee/Graduate requirements, incumbents promote to Public Safety Officer I ($117,913 - $136,499).
• Upon successful completion of all phases of training, members of the Public Safety Officer I classification promote to Public Safety Officer II ($124,775 - $155,457 annually).

Under immediate supervision of a Public Safety Lieutenant or Captain, either currently attends the California POST Basic Academy and is learning to perform a wide range of public safety work involving the protection of life and property including law enforcement, crime prevention, fire suppression, rescue, and basic life support activities; or has graduated from the California POST Basic Academy within the last 12 months; and performs related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS 

The position of Public Safety Officer Academy Attendee/Graduate is the training level classification for general police and fire work for those incumbents not affiliated with an agency and currently enrolled in a police academy. Incumbents are not sworn personnel and are generally in this classification until successful completion of the police academy. Assignment to this classification is temporary. If incumbents do not successfully complete a police academy, they will be terminated.  Incumbents hired after the graduation from the California POST Basic Academy are not sworn personnel and are generally in this classification until they are promoted to Public Safety Officer I.

Public Safety Officer Academy Attendee/Graduate is distinguished from the higher-level Public Safety Officer I in that the latter is a sworn position where incumbents continue training for both police and fire duties. Incumbents must successfully complete the police academy prior to being promoted to the classification of Public Safety Officer I.

The City of Marysville is excited to announce that we are looking for Intern Fire Fighters.  Currently, we have 3 positions looking to be filled.

This is a NEW program within the Marysville Fire Department.  The Marysville Fire Department is hiring continuously for twelve (12) Firefighter Reserves.  These positions will be funded for four (4) years through the SAFER Grant.  

For each 24 hour shift worked, you will receive $60 for food and mileage, that will be paid monthly in accordance with the City of Marysville's established pay schedule.

The position of Public Safety Officer-In Training is a non-sworn, training classification while incumbents are attending the police and fire academies. Upon successful completion of the police academy, incumbents will be promoted to the sworn, training position of Public Safety Officer I.
