Under immediate/general supervision from a Maintenance Supervisor, and technical and functional supervision from a lead worker; to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of landscape and parks, streets, equipment or building maintenance; occasionally assist in repair work; perform heavy manual labor. This classification does not operate heavy equipment and does not operate riding mowers.
Under general supervision the Paratransit Driver drives a City vehicle to designated locations, providing assistance and delivery service of Senior and Disabled Program participants in a safe and efficient manner; and does related work as required.

- Drive a paratransit van to destinations in a safe and efficient manner (up to 25 passengers).
The City of Union City has two vacancies for a Maintenance Trainee-Parks and Grounds position. Working under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor and under direction of the Maintenance II, Parks and Grounds lead person, incumbents in this classification work individually or as a member of a parks and grounds crew in the upkeep of City parks, medians, and satellite facilities including bus, equipment, and flora; perform related work as required.
Under general direction of the Public Works Director, administers the City’s storm water and environmental pollution control programs in compliance with established Federal, State and local regulatory standards and permit requirements; performs highly technical and specialized functions to preserve environmental resources and to provide public protection in the areas of storm water, Clean Water and other related programs.

Performs skilled technical work in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of process control, telemetry, and data acquisition systems and subsystems used in the wastewater treatment plant and water production and distribution facilities. The Instrumentation Technician ensures that the components of the City’s different process control, telemetry and data acquisition systems are properly programmed and operational.
