LIBRARIAN III, ADULT SERVICES-CENTRAL SANTA ROSA LIBRARY 

40 HOURS PER WEEK – FULL TIME

 
We are seeking a customer service driven library professional with excellent communication skills to  supervise the Adult Services department at the Central Santa Rosa Library. The ideal candidate will have strong outreach, technical, and training skills and be willing to work in a sometimes fast-paced and often vibrant “all ages” environment.

Under general supervision, this full-time, benefited position develops and participates in the full range of routine to complex professional library services for the community, including the development of programs and services; identification of current community needs and the projection of future needs; and performs related work as assigned.
 
TYPICAL TASKS include, but are not limited to: 

• Participates in budget preparation and administration; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; submits justifications for budget items; monitors and controls expenditures; performs grant-writing activities for assigned specialized area.
• Provides supervision to professional, technical, and paraprofessional staff and volunteers.
• Provides assistance to and advises patrons in the effective use of Library collection, facilities and services; demonstrates the use of library resources, tools, equipment, and electronic reference sources; assists with digital downloads.
• Performs outreach to the community, community organizations, and schools; informs community members and organizations about library services, programs, and collections to generate public support for library and fundraising efforts.
• Takes the lead in anticipating changes in community needs and changing technology and information services, and plans how to address needs and implement changes.
• Acts as the Person-in-Charge, including making responsible and appropriate decisions based upon patron and branch or unit needs.
• May participate in circulation functions at a public service desk as needed.

SPECIAL PAY INCENTIVES:

• Paramedic Pay: 5% Incentive Pay. Plus, the EMT/Paramedic Pay Pilot Program that runs through 6/30/2025 provides Paramedics with an additional 5% incentive pay. 
• Longevity Pay: 3% after 5 continuous years of service; 3% after 10 continuous years of service (total of 6%)
• Holiday Pay: 2% per pay period in lieu of observing time off for legal holidays.

The Department

The Suisun City Fire Department was established in 1861. The men and women of SCFD take great pride in the customer service that they provide to all who live, work and travel through Suisun City. SCFD is a mission-driven fire agency that remains focused on customers and safety. It is our goal that all members strive to attain a synergistic balance of education, training, and experience to provide excellent emergency management on every call. SCFD is a combination agency staffed with both full-time and volunteer fire personnel. We currently operate two Type 1 Fire Engines, one Type 3 Fire Engine, Ladder Truck, three Command Vehicles, one Type 5 Fire Engine, Zodiac Rescue Boats, and one USAR Trailer.  The Suisun City Fire Department is an ALS (Paramedic) level department, supported by Medic Ambulance for transport services. Station 47 is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Position

The ideal candidate will have well-developed technical skills in the operation and maintenance of fire equipment and apparatus, and be self-motivated, team-oriented, embrace diversity and exercise sound judgment. Work requires a good understanding of first aid techniques and lifesaving methods. The nature of the work requires that the incumbent establish and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships within their own department, other Suisun City personnel, and the general public on an ongoing basis.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

• Operates, drives, and maintains pumps and all apparatus to effectively suppress fires.
• Assists with the overhaul, salvage, and cleanup operations at any incident.
• Delivers basic life support (BLS)/advanced life support (ALS) as a Paramedic.
• Answers general questions of the public and provides information.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

This is a NEW program within the Marysville Fire Department.  The Marysville Fire Department is hiring continuously for twelve (12) Firefighter Reserves.  These positions will be funded for four (4) years through the SAFER Grant.  

For each 24 hour shift worked, you will receive $60 for food and mileage, that will be paid monthly in accordance with the City of Marysville's established pay schedule.

The City of Sausalito is seeking a dynamic and innovative team player for the position of Librarian II at the Sausalito Public Library. Under general direction from the City Librarian, the Librarian II will support all programs and/or functional areas in the City Library, including identifying current and projecting future community needs and providing leadership to initiatives to improve library services.

The responsibilities assigned to the Librarian II will be primarily oriented towards services to children and young adults, including providing direct support to children attending the schools of the Sausalito Marin City School District and their teachers.

The incumbent will also perform a variety of professional librarian duties, such as reference services, collection development and management, and cataloging. The Librarian II manages the effective use of library resources to improve organizational productivity and customer service while providing highly complex and responsible support to the City Librarian in their areas of expertise, as well as performing related work as required.

The Community: The City of Lincoln is a rapidly growing community with a population of 46,000+. It is located northeast of Sacramento, just minutes from I-80 and the Sierra Nevada foothills. THE POSITION:
The purpose of this program is to augment full-time staffing in the City of Lincoln Firefighting program, but mostly the intent is to provide opportunity to develop the skills and abilities necessary for a candidate to gain employment in the fire services industry. The non-sworn Reserve Firefighter will gain the valuable work experience needed to obtain the California State Firefighter I certification. The City of Lincoln will benefit from producing well trained reservists who assist the department with the gained skills, knowledge and abilities. The Reserve Firefighter will receive on-going training.

The City of Dixon Fire Department  offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants holding a career in fire safety and is recruiting to fill vacancies of full-time appointments for the position of Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic. 

To be considered eligible for Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic you must meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of 12 months of current and continuous experience as a full time/career firefighter with no separation time or break in service at time of application.
• Possess a current, valid Cal-JAC CPAT Card issued withing the last 12 months from date of application submission and ability to pass City of Dixon's aerial ladder agility test.
• Possession of a current, valid Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic license meeting the requirements of the California Emergency Medical Services Authority.
• Possession of a California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Certificate.
• Possession of a current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate issued by the American Heart Association or the equivalent. (Pediatric advanced life support & basic trauma life support or international trauma life support)
• Ability to possess Solano County Paramedic Accreditation within three (3) months of initial hire.
• A Firefighter Class C Endorsement and maintain clean driving record

The Dixon Fire Department offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants pursuing a career in fire safety.  The position performs fire prevention activities to save lives and property; responds to hazardous material incidents; responds to all fire alarms with designated company; prepares and operates the necessary equipment at the scene of the fire such as a hose, ladders, chemicals, bars, hooks, etc.; administers first aid to injured patrons; performs other acts required of a Firefighter at the scene of an emergency; carries out all duties assigned by Superior Officers.  Work involves irregular hours during the day and evenings, and on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
