ABOUT THE SUMMER LEARNING CHALLENGE PROGRAM
The Summer Learning Challenge is a summer library program that encourages kids, teens and adults to read or listen to books in the summer. The Challenge is a fun, interactive program for the whole family that includes free book giveaways, activities, raffles, prizes and a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship for kids ages 0-18. The program starts on June 1 and runs through the end of August.
If you enjoy working hard in a beautiful outdoor environment with a group of like-minded people, we invite you to apply for the position of Equipment Mechanic/Operator (EMO) at Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen). Enjoy the outdoors while transporting, operating and maintaining equipment used in the construction, maintenance, restoration and repair of public trails and rural roads in the foothills and ridges of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The anticipated start date for this position is June 2024.
POSITION INFORMATION
The Seasonal Park Ranger Aide position requires flexibility with a variable schedule including split shifts and on call availability from May through Labor day. The site location is at Camp Shelly in South Lake Tahoe. Lodging will be provided.

Under general supervision, lead, and conduct activities in the delivery of recreation program areas including camps, preschool, tots, after school programs, parks and nature, teens, boxing, youth and adult sports, special events, and active adults; oversee the proper use of indoor and outdoor community recreational facilities, perform a variety of custodial tasks; assist the public and staff in their use of the facility.
