Under general direction, performs responsible professional level engineering and administrative work in connection with a wide variety of engineering projects. May lead professional and paraprofessional engineering personnel engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects. Assist Directing Civil Engineer in training and providing guidance to Junior through Associate Engineer classifications and Inspector classifications. Responsibilities include: developing, coordinating and executing engineering methods and policies affecting a wide range of engineering activities; regular contact with professional engineering consultants, governmental agencies, involved communities and contractors in connection with complex and difficult engineering matters; overall oversight and review of detailed and complex engineering calculations, plans, specifications and technical papers; and performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares reports, calculations, design plans, specifications, schedules, cost estimates and other materials related to the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects and refers them to their supervisor for final approval Prepares and refers to the District Engineer or designee, contract documents and agreements for the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects with professional engineering consultants, contractors, utilities and governmental agencies Confers with other departments and agencies relative to engineering projects and work programs to ensure proper coordination of all related activities and responsibilities Makes field trips and inspections to resolve serious differences of opinion between engineers and contractors' representatives as they relate to design matters Conducts and attends conferences and meetings in connection with planning and design of improvement and construction projects Ability to use computers including proficiency with spreadsheets Prepares and leads the preparation of a variety of engineering calculations, data and reports in connection with planning, development, and construction of projects Makes oral presentations Regular and reliable attendance and performance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field Five years' progressively responsible experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, contract preparation, related phases of engineering and inspection of construction projects. Experience as a lead engineer desirable. Required Licenses and/or Certification: Registration (P.E. license) as a Civil Engineer in the state of California. Must have a PE license as a Civil Engineer for at least 5 years. Must possess and maintain a current and satisfactory driving record. No reckless driving and DUI within the last 7 years. No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years. Operates District vehicles on a regular basis. Physical Requirements: Must inspect construction work on the Golden Gate Bridge, other structures and buildings, climb scaffolds, catwalks and ladders. Work from heights. Work outside in all weather conditions. Work over water. Carry harness and test or inspection equipment. Occasionally enter into trenches and other excavations.  DEFINITION

Under supervision, performs sub-professional engineering office work related to Public Works improvements; elementary field surveying; computer-aided drafting and design work; and related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Performs a wide variety of responsible sub-professional engineering work; computes and posts simple engineering data; computer-aided drafting, design, and mapping; revises, reviews, files, and updates engineering plans and maps; assists field survey and traffic survey crews as needed.

The Position

The Multipurpose Senior Service Program (MSSP) Case Manager will perform professional and clinical social work tasks and duties for older adults living with complex medical conditions to assist them to obtain optimum health, financial, and/or social services. As a member of the Human Services Department, this position reports to a Clinical Supervisor in the Aging and Family Services Division.

Under guidelines provided by the State of California, the MSSP Case Manager provides case management to frail seniors who are MediCal eligible and 65 years of age and older, to support them to live in their own home. This position joins a multi-disciplinary team of a social worker and a nurse and will perform case management functions in the cities of Fremont, Newark, Union City and Hayward. This position requires driving to conduct community visits, including visits to client homes and medical facilities. Participants in the MSSP program have significant medical and/or caregiving deficits and are at risk of further deterioration and/or institutionalization. The Case Manager will evaluate clients for medical appropriateness (RN only), conduct assessments (health and/or psychosocial), formulate detailed care plans, access/advocate for services, and monitor client care. The program serves a diverse client population, and the candidate must feel comfortable working with monolingual non-English speaking clients and/or through interpreters.

This is a regular, part-time position (32 hours/week) and will receive pro-rated benefits.

- Manage a caseload of 28-32 clients comprised of older individuals with complex medical conditions.

The Position

The Case Manager will perform professional and clinical social work with individuals and/or families who are unhoused or housing insecure, and who may have complex social and medical needs including health care, financial assistance, employment opportunities, as well as housing assistance. As a member of the Human Services Department, this position reports to a Clinical Supervisor, under direction of the division manager of Homeless Care and Response (HCR), and is characterized by the responsibility to provide comprehensive psycho- social assessments and develop and implement care plans. These plans may focus on connecting clients  to public benefits, obtaining budgeting skills, accessing medical care, and obtaining more stable living arrangements. The position works within a team of professionals and will be required to work collaboratively with team members and community partners.  In order to perform responsibilities, the Case Manager will be required to conduct site visits in the company of another staff member in the field to locations where homeless persons may reside,  to medical facilities, and other community locations.

Role Description

As a Clinical Psychologist for the County Adult Assistance Program(CAAP), you will conduct professional-level work in screening and assessing CalWORKS and CAAP clients to identify and document disabling mental health conditions and associated functional limitations that enable them to qualify for Social Security Benefits.

Essential Duties Include:

• Conducts screening and assessment of clients with mental health related complaints, collateral interviews with primary care and behavioral health staff, and medical records review to support clients’ application for Social Security Benefits.
• Selects, administers, scores, and interprets appropriate psychological tests of intelligence, personality, aptitude, achievement, interest and other specialized areas and conducts diagnostic clinical interviews with emotionally disturbed, mentally ill, chemically dependent, and intellectually disabled adults to assess their impairments to provide medical evidence in support of clients’ application for Social Security Benefits as needed.
• Prepares psychological reports presenting diagnostic findings, interview findings, functional assessments, clinical evaluations, and recommendations for the Clients’ SSI eligibility.
• Reviews and evaluates psychological, psychiatric and/or neuropsychological data and case material.
• Provides education, consultation, and information to community providers, and CAAP’s multi-disciplinary team on adult adjustment problems, mental illness, chemical dependence, culturally relevant services, and other topics related to SSI eligibility.
• Supervises psychology interns and subordinate clinical staff not including class 2574 Clinical Psychologist; conducts staff training programs both within the clinic or unit and for line agency personnel.

This is a permanent at-will position with the City Manager’s Office reporting to the Director of the Office of Racial Equity. Bilingual in Spanish or Vietnamese is preferable but not required.

The Department is currently recruiting to fill multiple Associate Engineer (Building) positions in the Plan Review Services Division with duties including, but not limited to:

- Advising professional engineers, architects and others concerning code requirements, engineering and planning problems arising in the preliminary design of buildings and structures.

- Examining plans, calculations and specifications for residential, multi-family, commercial and industrial buildings, including complex major structures for structural adequacy, zoning and general compliance with governing laws, codes, ordinances and regulations.

- Making independent engineering analyses on proposed buildings when required to justify the structural safety of design, and applicable electrical and mechanical systems.

- Working closely with and giving information to professional engineers, architects, contractors and the general public regarding building, zoning and general requirements concerning buildings and structures.

- Coordinating effectively with Development Service partners e.g. Planning, Fire Prevention, Public Works, Environmental Services for plan review consistency and streamlining permit process.

- Issuing permits after review of plans.

- Advising building inspectors on structural, fire and life-safety challenges arising in the field during the construction of a building project.

- Instructing inspectors and technicians in the review of simple building plans.

- Conducting safety assessments of older buildings and assisting in enforcing compliance with the City's Disaster Response Plan.

- Performing observational review of critical structural elements of the projects under construction.
