The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Public Health Nurse Intern/Public Health Nurse in the Health and Human Services Department. This position provides the full range of public health nursing services including teaching, health assessment, and counseling services in homes, clinics, schools and community centers in connection with the prevention and control of diseases and adverse health conditions. Upon satisfactory completion of the PHN Certification, the PHN Intern are eligible for promotion to the level of PHN. Public Health Nurse: is the entry level in this class series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas. THE POSITION

Under the direction of the Assistant Public Works Director, the superintendent will direct the work activities of the Fleet and Facilities operating function in the Public Works Services Department.  The Fleet and Facilities Services Superintendent will have the ability to provide direct and indirect supervision of supervisory, technical, and office personnel including select, supervise, train and evaluate subordinates, including equitable execution of the disciplinary procedures. THE DEPARTMENT

The Parks and Recreation Department is the third largest department in the City and is organized by program area, with each program administered by a supervisor, coordinator, or specialist. The Parks and Recreation Department is composed of a Director and 22 full-time management positions. The department is comprised of the Recreation, Parks, and Building Maintenance divisions. The Parks and Recreation Department mission is to provide opportunities for physical, cultural and social well being; protect and enhance the physical environment; and ensure the effective and efficient use of public facilities and open space.

The Building Maintenance Division maintains 32 facilities totaling more than 563,000 square feet and over 275 acres of park land. The division provides janitorial, preventative maintenance services, and necessary building and related equipment repairs to all of the City's facilities, including interior and exterior work. The division also performs a variety of tasks, which includes moving furniture, set-ups, and many other miscellaneous tasks as required. 

DESCRIPTION:

The Department:

The Parks and Recreation Department provides planning, development, operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of the City's neighborhood parks, open space, water sites, recreation buildings, and trails.

The Position:

Under supervision, to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in connection with the development and maintenance of City parks and recreational facilities.

As an As-needed Laborer, the successful incumbent will work in the department, performing routine maintenance on various parks and facilities including the city-owned cemetery. This position will assist in maintenance and repair using a variety of tools and specialized equipment. 

The Laborer position performs varied, unskilled and skilled manual tasks related to landscape maintenance and sanitization. Typical tasks include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and buildings, loading trash and leaves in truck, litter abatement, mowing, edging, cleaning park sites, graffiti abatement, and operating a variety of hand/power tools and heavy equipment as needed. This position may require working weekends, holidays, and after hours. Must be able to read, speak, and write English at a basic level, follow written and oral instruction, and perform heavy lifting.  

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

Performs construction, maintenance and sanitation duties as required; and does related work as required.

BUILDING ATTENDANT

Salary:  $16.54 to $27.56/hour, non-benefitted position, DOE

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Facility duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Unlock and lock buildings for renters and programs.
• Be present and assist renters during events.
• Set up and breakdown tables and chairs for rentals and program classes.
• Maintain and keep facilities clean during and after events.
• Move furniture/equipment and return to appropriate storage areas after events.

The City of Berkeley is seeking a Senior Public Health Nurse who is passionate about working with community members and partners! In this role, you will take an equity-focused approach to supporting good health for families and individuals across the lifespan.

The Senior Public Health Nurse will provide health consultations and case management in a multidisciplinary team for families facing complex health challenges. In addition to providing consultations and trainings for community based organizations and providers, this position will also lead initiatives to enhance professional development for a team of nurses and support program planning for Public Health Nursing services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university accredited by the National League for Nursing, with major course work in nursing, and two (2) years of public health nursing experience.

The Construction Services Manager will directly perform a variety of new construction, skilled building and grounds repair and restoration work, supervises construction crews of staff, and manages the work of licensed contractors. The Construction Services Manager is responsible for the management and completion of repair and improvement projects at a variety of park facilities and locations.

This is skills-based physical labor work, in all weather conditions, for a person at an intermediate level. The work performed will support MRCA’s operation of nature parks within greater Los Angeles and other MRCA efforts related to public access, open space conservation, habitat restoration, and urban park development.

The position reports to the Division Chief. Assorted tasks may be supervised by the Deputy Executive Officer. The position supervises 6-12 other staff.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
