THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for a special individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Children’s Outpatient (COP) Department. The Clinical Therapist I/II provides behavioral health clinical intervention and recovery services to assigned clients and their families; develops treatment plans and performs individual, group, and family psychotherapeutic counseling, routine and emergency assessment, crisis intervention, and related treatment services; manages an assigned caseload of adults, juveniles, and/or children; provides consultation to other staff, programs, and agencies related to treatment needs and plans; and performs related duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure; completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.

The Department

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships, engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem-solving, and leveraging financial and volunteer resources. The Department’s nationally and internationally recognized programs support thousands of residents throughout their life course, from infants to elders. The department offers a working environment which is friendly, supportive, collegial, and where staff of many disciplines come together to problem solve, compassionately assist those in need, and share successes.

The Aging and Family Services Division (AFS) of HSD specifically supports older residents and their caregivers to live active, healthy lives in the Tri-City community. With input from local, older adults (age 55 years+) as our guide, the AFS team strives to provide and AFS staff work together to provide a continuum of supportive services that range from health promotion activities to home-based end of life care. AFS has a Senior InfoLine (phone and email) that is answered in 4 language (Farsi, English, Spanish and Chinese) that is often an entry point. As an older adult or their caregiver’s situation changes, they seamlessly have access to a continuum of programs that include counseling and emotional support; care coordination and resource assistance; specialized family caregiver support and education. Many of these supportive services are provided in the resident’s home. We also provide regular expert clinical consultation, supervision, opportunities for self-reflection, and team building, fostering a culture of empathy, inclusivity, humility, and respect.

The Position

Under the supervision of the Age Well Center Managers, the Chef/Food Services Manager position manages meal programs for the City of Fremont’s Age Well Centers. Chef responsibilities across both Age Well Center locations include the performance of menu planning, purchasing of foodstuffs, preparing quantity meals, supervising and assisting kitchen employees and volunteers and maintaining clean and orderly kitchens.

The incumbent will be responsible for properly cooked, economical, and wholesome, well balanced meals in City operated Age Well Centers. This position is not limited to being responsible for the assignment of work, supervision and evaluation of paid and volunteer food service workers. The review and approval of proposed menus, food purchases, control and monitoring of expenditure rates; and institution of disciplinary actions are functions reserved for the Program Coordinator or Age Well Center Managers.

Examples of Duties

• Plan menus with consideration for the dietary needs of older adults, wholesomeness, quantity of food to be prepared and budgetary constraints.
• Estimate food requirements and requisitions for food and supplies.
• Prepare, cook, and serve a wide variety of foodstuffs for quantity food service.
• May cut/carve and cook meats; bake breads, cakes and pastries; peel and prepare vegetables; and make salads.
• Place food in serving containers and serves food.
• Maintain proper temperature, rotation and storage of food.
• Direct and assist in cleaning kitchens and kitchen equipment after each meal.
• Estimate food requirements and requisitions for food and supplies.
• Direct and assist in the cleaning of the kitchen and kitchen equipment after each meal.
• Oversee that the kitchen and equipment are kept clean, sanitary and in proper working condition. Schedule regular maintenance of kitchen equipment as needed. Maintain standards of safety and sanitation in kitchen area.
• Recruit, train, supervise, instruct, and direct employees and volunteers assigned to working in the kitchens.
• Develop and support additional meal programs, including, but not limited to fundraisers, catering events and cooking demonstrations and special events.
• Keep records and prepare reports as required. Inclusive of any certification requirements and/or medical clearances required of subordinate employees and volunteers.
• Oversee community garden program, including crop rotation, seasonal planting, and maintenance assignment.
• Coordinate with office staff, marketing and sales strategies to increase visibility and participation for meal programs.
• Ensure kitchen compliance with health regulations and participate in health inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP: 
 
General direction is provided by the Deputy Director of Human Resources. Provides direct supervision of professional, technical, and administrative staff assigned to the Human Resources Department.
 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
 
This is an unrepresented mid-management classification that oversees, directs, and participates in the day-to-day operations of an assigned Human Resources division, including planning, and budgeting, coordinating with other divisions and departments, and managing and accomplishing the complex and varied functions of the department. The position is distinguished from the Senior Human Resources Analyst, which is an advanced journey-level classification that performs a wide variety of professional level duties independently but does not have full division management responsibility.  The classification is distinguished from the Deputy Director of Human Resources, which is a single management-level classification that provides oversight of the entire Human Resources program and assists the Director of Human Resources in overall Human Resources management and policy development.

Essential Duties:

• Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Develops and directs the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the assigned program area. 
• Selects, trains, and provides for the professional development of department staff; plans, organizes, administers, and evaluates the work of department staff; evaluates and monitors workflow and distribution of work; authorizes discipline as required.
• Interprets and applies City rules, policies and procedures, Memoranda of Understanding, and local, state, and federal laws; provides policy guidance and interpretation to staff.
• Develops City policies and procedures related to the assigned program area; monitors changes in laws, regulations, and technology that may impact operations and revise rules as needed.
• Prepares, administers, and is responsible for the budget for assigned program areas; forecasts additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; administers the approved budget; monitors and controls expenditures.
• Continuously monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; identifies opportunities for improvement; directs the implementation of change. 
• Researches, compiles, analyzes, and evaluates general and statistical information regarding assigned program area.
• Prepares and directs the preparation of a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, and other written materials.
•  Provides technical advice to the City leadership team and the Council in area of expertise. 
• Assumes the responsibility of the Deputy Director of Human Resources in their absence or as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible Human Resources management experience including assignments in the areas of recruitment, selection, classification, training, compensation, employee and labor relations, worker's compensation and safety administration, and employee benefits or other pertinent job-related areas, including two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience.

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources, business, or public administration or closely related field.

DEFINITION: This position reports to the Recreation Coordinator and/or Supervisor managing youth programs. This position involves a high level of management, coordination, and good communication skills. As Camp Director, you will oversee plans, direct and coordinate the daily activities and staff for Mill Valley Recreation Department and Community Center Summer Day Camp Program. You will may have up to 15 part-time staff reporting to you at one time, you may be required to lead the entire camp in coordination and planning on a daily/ weekly basis and you may be asked to arrive early or stay late to oversee/ assist with camp prep and cleaning up. This position requires a commitment to Mill Valley Summer Camp programming and may be between a 20 to 40 hour a week position.

LARPD is seeking a summer intern to support the Community Outreach Department.  Applicants should have the equivalent of one year of college credits completed toward a degree.  Candidates interested in learning about communications, content creation, and social media with a government agency will be given preference.  Interested candidates should complete an application online. Community Outreach Communications Project Plan 

The Community Outreach team is seeking a summer intern for a 10–12-week assignment.  The goal of the internship is to gain valuable experience capturing and creating content, assisting throughout the district.  

Key duties 

• Visit Summer Programs to Capture Video and Photo content 

• Draft Program Highlight and Promotional Social Posts 

• Edit Community Facing District-Wide Videos 

• Assist with District-Wide Communications including Email Newsletters, Website, and social media. 

Key deliverables will be: 

• Create two to three 30 second videos highlighting LARPD’s impact on the community. 

• Update District Parks and Facilities Guide for Website  

• Capturing photo/video content from summer programs 

What learning will occur for the intern? 

• Learn to effectively communicate the LARPD brand identity across various channels, including social media, website, and content creation, by maintaining consistency in voice, tone, and messaging.

Timing 

June-August 9th.  Interns may start and end later but need to be present for the core Sessions slated for the entire month of June, July and through August 9th.  

Work hours will be Monday – Friday, 25-30 hours per week during the 12 weeks of employment.  The pay rate will be $20 per hour.  All interns will be required to successfully complete a Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and undergo a TB test as a condition of employment.
