The City has a population of approximately 6,000 and is a full service city with its own Police Department, Public Library, Building Department, Water and Sewer Departments and Part-Time Fire Department.

Schedules vary and are based on the needs of the hiring authority. Temporary employees may not exceed a maximum of 25 hours per week and 1000 hours in a fiscal year (fiscal year runs from July 1 – June 30).
