JOB DESCRIPTION: The Park Ranger Assistant provides information and assistance to the public and enforces laws, rules and regulations (including sections of the Fremont Municipal Code) pertaining to park and recreation facilities.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)

• Responsible for patrol and general supervision of Central Park and its recreation facilities and picnic areas
• Give information and provide assistance to the public acting as a City of Fremont liaison
• As a Public Officer, may enforce the Fremont Municipal Code within the park system including issuing citations
• Knowledgeable of the rules, regulations and ordinances of the City of Fremont park operations
• Maintain continual radio communication with other staff
• Provide traffic and parking control as needed
• Provide emergency animal services
• Conduct historical and natural history interpretive programs for children and adults

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

THE POSITION
The City of Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced Swim Team Coach for Campbell Wave Swim Team, ages 6-18 years old, at the Campbell Community Center. This position reports to the Aquatics Recreation Specialist. 

Salary Range: $17.00 to $25.00 per hour DOQ

Part-Time, Temporary Non-Benefited position

Schedule: Actual work schedule to be determined through mutual agreement with supervisor. Employee may be required to work weekends.

Responsibilities: 

• Swim team coordination with Aquatics Recreation Specialist;  
• Prepares and implements work-outs;
• Tracks and encourages team enrollment;

The Greater Vallejo Recreation District is a Special Service District that has been serving area residents for over sixty years. As a Special Service District, GVRD operates as a separate government agency from the City of Vallejo. GVRD manages 407 acres of public park space including 20 neighborhood parks, 10 community parks, 6 special purpose parks, and Olympic-size swimming pool and 4 community centers.  GVRD maintains over 1,000 acres of public land. 

GVRD is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. With 30 plus full time and approximately 155 part-time and seasonal employees, GVRD operates on a 2019-2020 fiscal year budget of $7.9 million for general fund operations and Measure K funding amounting to $2.2 million.  The Measure K funding is being utilized to purchase necessary equipment, improve parks, facilities.

DEFINITION
Under supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, this position manages Recreation staff, programmatic leadership, assigned area budget, and cross departmental collaboration. Top candidates will assist full-time and part-time staff with all Recreation related needs, community outreach, and perform a variety of technical tasks as directed.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED EXERCISED

• Receive immediate supervision from higher level Recreation staff. Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees (1 or more full and part-time employees) including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/ effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed.

THE POSITION
Under the general supervision of the Campbell Community Center Supervisor, the Building Attendant oversees proper use and rental activity at the City of Campbell Community Center and other City facilities. The Building Attendant assignments include working special events at various City facilities. The Building Attendant performs basic custodial duties (moving tables, chairs, set-up AV equipment, set-up athletic equipment, moping, sweeping, empty trashcans, etc.), ensuring compliance of established rules and procedures for the use of the facilities. The Position:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Payroll Manager performs professional supervisory work involved with managing and directing computerized payroll production for the District. The Payroll Manager develops, implements, and monitors procedures to ensure integrity of the payroll systems and to comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, and guidelines. Public contact is extensive and involves staff at various levels within the organization, local government agencies, and other outside entities for the purpose of exchanging technical accounting procedural and policy information. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity are required to analyze data and develop resolutions for a variety of minor and major problems that occur. Duties and Responsibilities:

3. Reviews payroll control reports and approves payroll transmissions
4. Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned staff and provides feedback, training, and developmental support as needed
5. Establishes and monitors timelines and prioritizes work
6. Supervises the maintenance of District payroll records and reports as required by federal, state, local, and District policy, including meeting STRS and PERS requirements
7. Compiles information and calculations for W-2 reporting
8. Sorts and distributes W-2 forms at year-end and answers questions regarding accessing electronic W-2 forms
9. Oversees W-2 corrections and the preparation of W-2c and W-3c documents
10. Monitors and audits the accuracy and integrity of all payrolls, benefit health cost premiums, mandated benefit costs and balances the general ledger
11. Provides technical direction to support staff conducting various payroll activities
12. Investigates and resolves complex or unusual payroll problems, which may require specialized research or analysis

14. Ensures payment of payroll taxes, withheld wages, and preparation of federal and state tax returns

The Position:
The Accountant performs professional work involved in first line supervision of accounting functions, complex account development, maintenance, modification, and reporting. Under direction, the position is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles to analyze, maintain, reconcile and verify a variety of budgetary, accounting and other fiscal records. The position supervises daily operations in a variety of functional accounting areas and maintains adequate oversight and internal controls over such operations. Public contact is extensive and involves staff at various levels within the organization, local government agencies and other outside entities for the purpose of exchanging technical accounting procedural and policy information. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity are required to analyze data and develop resolutions to a variety of minor and major problems that occur. The consequences of errors in judgment can be costly in employee time, public relations and/or institutional funding; however, administrative controls limit the risk of serious consequences in loss of revenue. An Accountant can direct the work of accounting paraprofessional, clerical and other staff as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

PROGRAM ASSISTANT (Theatre Technician)

Salary Range: $17.64 to $29.22/hour, DOE

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position.
• Flexible schedule of 15-20 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends; not-to-exceed 950 hours per calendar year.
• This position is located at Village Theatre and Art Gallery.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

General supervision is received from Program Coordinator. This position does not exercise supervision over others.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

• Oversee and assist renters and various user groups during events in Town facilities.
• Program and/or operate lighting and/or sound equipment.
• Box office management, reporting, and cash handling.
• Maintain and keep facility clean and in good working order during and after events.
• Uphold policies and regulations set by the Village Theatre and ensure that co-sponsor groups, user groups and renters follow them.
• Represents the Performing Arts Coordinator during events held at the Village Theatre.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have successfully completed 12th grade and be at least 18 years old with two years of experience in live performance theatre, with experience in operating theatrical lighting and sound or has taken relative coursework. Set construction, production management and/or stage management is a plus.

Knowledge of:

• Operations, services and activities of technical operations of theatre programs.
• Theatre pre-performance, performance, and post-performance activities.
• Office procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers and applicable software applications.

Ability to:

• Work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.
• Lift 50 pounds; carry 30 pounds.
• Perform duties with OSHA standards.

LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)

Possession of a valid California State Driver’s License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire. Prior to the start of employment, must provide proof of authorization to work in the United States, current (negative) TB test results, and successfully pass a background check (Live Scan).
