What You’ll Do

The Engineering Manager will provide and participate in critical team leadership in assuring that all engineering services, goals, projects and initiatives meet the high-performance standards of the Department and City. An Engineering Manager receives general direction from a Deputy Director of Public Works or higher-level department personnel and exercises direct supervision over professional, technical and clerical staff.

San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is seeking a highly-qualified Social Worker III - Discharge Planner/Case Manager to provide highly skilled, intensive discharge planning and case management to individuals and their families, and provide casework consultation within SMMC and to outside agencies.

The Social Worker III - Discharge Planner/Case Manager position will support SMMC to provide services related to discharge planning/case management on various units of the hospital, including the Medical/Surgical unit, Intensive Care Unit, Acute Psychiatry unit, Short Term Rehabilitation unit, Emergency Room, and Psychiatric Emergency Services. This includes needs assessment, assistance in financial resource management, crisis management, service delivery planning and follow up, and referrals to public, community-based services and programs. The candidate should be familiar with the rules and regulations governing skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working in an acute care hospital setting performing discharge planning, including appropriate documentation in accordance with all Medicare and Medi-Cal regulations, and should be experienced working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and LEAN principles.

The current vacancy is an on-site, Full-Time, Regular position. In addition to the regular vacancy, we also have an Extra-Help vacancy on site. Experience with psychiatric discharge planning is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will be:

• An experienced social worker with the ability to plan and execute complex treatment plans in a community- or acute care hospital-based setting.
• Experienced with Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), as well as other mental health community programs.
• Knowledgeable of the systems of care related to older adults, mental health, substance abuse, developmental delay, pediatrics, primary care, palliative care, chronic illnesses, dialysis, conservatorship, and probation and parole.
• Able to work independently with little supervision and demonstrates a high degree of initiative.
• Knowledgeable of housing resources, their requirements for eligibility, and other community services such as In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP), Institute on Aging (IOA), Health Plan of San Mateo (HPSM), BHRS, and Bridges to Wellness, and more.
• Knowledgeable about County benefit and entitlement programs, such as Medi-Cal and ACE.
• Experienced and comfortable working with the following populations: multi-cultural, homeless, chronic diseases, end-of-life, mental health, domestic violence, parolees, and substance abuse disorders.
• Experienced working with a diverse population (race, ethnicity, age, ability, language, nationality, socioeconomic status, gender, religion, and sexual orientation).
• Able to accurately assess for signs of adult and child abuse and be a mandated reporter.
• Able to work in a politically charged environment under high degrees of stress and meet all deadlines.
• Able to develop effective and positive working relationships with community partners such as Aging and Adult Services, BHRS, and HPSM.
• An effective communicator to a broad range of stakeholders, including doctors, nurses, conservators, health advocates, families, and patients.
• Able to remain calm during crisis situations and perform emergency crisis counseling for families and patients as needed.
• Experienced documenting in an EMR.
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Spanish-speaking preferred.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide information and assistance to patients of SMMC.
• Conduct initial screenings for patients and develop appropriate discharge/service plans to address identified issues.
• Provide skilled casework services to patients and their families.
• Schedule and conduct family care conference meetings with patients, families, and treatment team for short-term and long-term placement needs.
• Coordinate referrals, both internal and external, as part of the social service plan.
• Follow up on referrals and document outcomes as well as completion of items.
• Provide crisis intervention to patients and their families.
• Assist patients in meeting a variety of emergency needs, including financial, housing, and emotional crises.
• Assist patients with applications and securing of private and public benefits.
• Gather and maintain current information on community resources and disseminate this information to patients and staff.
• Maintain case files utilizing the electronic medical record.
• Work with the hospital's multidisciplinary team of staff to identify and address barriers to care, participate in quality assurance efforts such as outcome analysis, chart reviews, and patient and staff satisfaction efforts, and assist with maintenance of Center policies.
• Document interactions with patients/clients in EMR.
• Be a member of the Palliative Care Team.
• Work in the emergency room or any other areas in the hospital that social workers cover.

Qualifications

Education:

• Satisfactory completion of 36 semester units of Social Welfare and/or appropriate behavioral science courses.

Experience:

• Three years' experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker II or higher in San Mateo County.

Substitution: Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work and two years' experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker II or higher in San Mateo County.

Licensure/Certification :

• California class C driver license or equivalent.

ESD is seeking a dynamic, creative, and collaborative leader for the position of Microsoft Server Support Engineer (Network Engineer). This position will act as lead to three Network Technicians who collectively provide end-user support. The ideal candidate must have the ability to effectively resolve difficult customer situations, function independently within the scope of their responsibilities, manage complex technology projects, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Possible projects include developing requirements for technology procurements, planning local area network upgrades, coordinating the rollout of mobile devices using a management system, and managing deployment and maintenance of department-level applications or systems.

Typical duties for ESD's Microsoft Server Support Engineer (Network Engineer) may include but are not limited to the following:

Manage Active Directory (AD)

     * Perform standard AD user, group, and group policy update tasks.

     * Perform standard share folder maintenance tasks.

     * Standardize and document ESD processes for user and computer management.

     * Develop and implement standard procedures to audit group membership and file share permissions.

     * Coordinate AD maintenance activities with the Information Technology Department.

Manage all ESD Servers and Data Centers

     * Deploy, support, and manage virtual and physical servers in a mixed environment (Linux, Windows 2016, 2019 and 2022).

     * Patch management, antivirus monitoring and remediation, Windows clustering, OS upgrades, security, and system monitoring.

     * Create and implement preventive maintenance and disaster recovery plans for all ESD data centers.

     * Implement consolidation measures to improve efficiency of server operations and reduce physical footprint.

     * Implement data migration from on premise to cloud data storage.

     * Implement in-place upgrade on windows servers.

Manage Helpdesk Requests and Provide End-User Technical Support

     * Respond to customer service requests.

     * Manage daily workload of three network technicians for helpdesk tickets and follow up on outstanding items.

     * Resolve customer complaints and service issues.

Manage ESD's Local Area Networks

     * Lead projects to upgrade and maintain network infrastructure and wireless networks at ESD facilities.

     * Support multi-vendor local area networks and enterprise connections in partnership with the IT Department.

     * Upgrade copper/fiber hybrid phone network.

     * Troubleshoot network traffic and performance issues using tools like Sniffer or Wireshark to ensure optimal performance for data and VOIP.

Maintain Client System Security

     * Maintain and manage desktops with the MS Defender anti-virus system.

     * Lead responses to virus outbreaks or system security issues.

     * Install and maintain system security patches and updates.

Research and Development

     * Investigate new technologies and new methodologies for achieving technology goals.

The City of Dixon is accepting applications to fill one (1) full-time position of Transit Driver/Dispatcher and to establish an eligibility list for future use.  

This position drives a Readi-Ride General Public Paratransit Vehicle (GPPV) on a demand responsive curb-to-curb transit system and assist patrons boarding and leaving the bus, especially the elderly, disabled, and school age children. May also assist in collecting information relating to the operation of the system; receive ride requests and organize the vehicle pick-ups and drop-offs; and, will work closely with the drivers and Transit Supervisor to ensure coordinated efforts.

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking highly motivated and results-oriented Utilities Maintenance Worker I/II/Trainees for the Water and Wastewater divisions of the Public Works Department.  Applications are currently being accepted to fill two positions at the Municipal Service Center in the Newbury Park area of Thousand Oaks (one each in Water and Wastewater). San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC), part of San Mateo County Health, is seeking a qualified and experienced Diabetes Nurse Educator for its Innovative Care Clinic's (ICC), Diabetes Self-Management Education. The Innovative Care Clinic (ICC) is a fully functional adult care clinic providing an interdisciplinary and integrated model of care emphasizing collaboration across professional roles.  The Diabetes Nurse Educator will also serve the Ron Robinson Senior Care Center, Coastside, and Mental Health Primary Care clinics.

The Diabetes Nurse Educator functions as a patient educator collaborating with patients with a diagnosis of diabetes to educate them on areas such as weight management, food intake, medications and the proper usage of a glucometer.  The goal is to assist patients with high A1C to lower their numbers to be within normal range.  The Diabetes Nurse Educator will follow the American Diabetes Association guidelines for Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME).  The educator is responsible for submitting regular data to the ADA to retain SMMC's certification.  The educator will lead a team of diabetes educators across the SMMC system by conducting regular meetings to discuss any updates on DSME.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in ambulatory care setting addressing chronic disease management; is skilled in patient diabetes self-management education, triage, and assessment; has worked with the underserved population and on interdisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate is also a critical thinker, fast learner and thrives in a dynamic environment.  Computer literacy, prior experience with electronic medical records (E-Clinical Works and/or EPIC preferred).  Experience in data tracking/management is highly desirable.  Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.

Additionally desired Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

• Certified Diabetic Educator Certification (preferred but not required) 
• Proficiency in using Excel in order to track key data for ongoing certification with the American Diabetes Association.
• An individual assessment and education plan developed collaboratively by the individual and educator(s) to direct the selection of appropriate educational interventions and self-management support strategies.
• Educational interventions directed toward helping the individual achieve self-management goals.
• Able to conduct one to one and group educational classes.
• Periodic evaluations to determine attainment of educational objectives.
• Documentation of the patient interaction and education plan, as well as any need for follow-up visits. 
• Ability to communicate effectively to patients in regard to nutrition, diet, and exercise to improve their overall health and quality of life.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:

• A California license as a Registered Nurse.
• Possession and maintenance of BLS certification. 

Education and Experience:

• Associate Degree in Nursing with two years clinical experience including one year in a clinical specialty area, or 
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or a health-related field with one year of clinical experience including six months in a clinical specialty area, or
• Master's degree in Nursing.
• Must have knowledge of and verifiable experience in adult education curriculum development, program evaluation, and evidence-based and best practice implementation

Job Description

Under direct supervision, the Development Strategy & Finance Sr. Analyst works within the Port’s Real Estate and Development Division leading analytical work related to the Port’s Public-Private Partnership Development Projects. Key tasks will include preparing complex financial analyses and reports, analyzing development pro formas and appraisals, coordinating the issuance and disbursement of bonds and associated record keeping documentation, supporting with development negotiations, and managing division-wide contracts, billings, and budgets.

The Sr. Analyst will support Project Managers with all aspects of Port Development projects. The role will receive support in learning and performing all tasks with the goal of independently managing specific areas over time. The Development team and this position are collaborative in nature, and the Sr. Analyst will work with both internal and external stakeholders including all Port Divisions, specifically Port Finance and the Port’s Resilience team, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the Office of Public Finance, and private development partners.

The essential functions of this position include:

• Analyzes Port-wide development opportunities to prioritize projects and determine value to support Port-wide Sea Level Rise resilience projects.
• Reviews project pro formas, appraisals, and other financial analyses to determine fiscal feasibility and economic value to the Port.
• Supports Port Development, Finance, and Office of Public Finance teams with tax district formation and bond issuances.
• Tracks ongoing Project finances to ensure projects stay on budget, public sources are sufficient for funding, and Port meets revenue expectations.
• Identifies cost-saving measures for development projects and support the implementation of these actions with other City departments
• Supports Project Managers on development negotiations (term sheets, leases, community benefits) by conducting research tasks and financial projections
• Assists in the drafting of relevant development deal documents (term sheet, leases, Development Agreements)
• Assists in preparation of memos, staff reports, and presentations for Port executives, Port Commission, and Board of Supervisors.
• Coordinates billing and payments for developer reimbursables and Development-related invoices with Development Finance Manager.
• Manages Development team’s as-needed economic consultant contracts.

Qualifications

Education

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND

Experience

Three (3) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level analytical work. Qualifying professional-level analytical work includes analysis, development, administration, and reporting in major programs and functions of an organization in the areas of budgets, contracts, grants, policy, or other functional areas related to the duties of positions in the 1823 Class series; AND

License and Certification

Possession of a valid California driver’s license (to be presented at time of appointment).  Employees must be insurable under the Port’s automobile liability insurance.  Insurability must be maintained throughout employment.

Substitution

Education Substitution: Additional qualifying work experience as described above may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of 2 years (1 year of work experience is equal to 30 semester units or 45 quarter units).

Experience Substitution: Possession of a graduate degree (Master's degree or higher) from an accredited college or university with major coursework in specialized subject matter areas such as public or business administration, management, business law, contract law, public policy, urban studies, economics, statistical analysis, finance, accounting or other fields of study closely related to the essential functions of positions in the Class series may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience.

The City of Burlingame is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, creative, and responsible Preschool Site Coordinator. Under direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Village Park Preschool ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role involves managing staff, coordinating programs, communicating with parents, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties

• Program Oversite
  • Coordinate with teachers and staff to ensure lesson plans, schedules, and classroom activities align with educational standards and goals.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as needed to meet the needs of children and families.
  • Manage supply lists and shop for required materials.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time.
  • Develop and plan activities for preschool summer camp
  • Change diapers and support toilet training.

• Staff Management 
  • Train and supervise teaching staff.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to staff to enhance their skills and performance.

• Parent Communication 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a responsive and professional manner.
  • Facilitate open communication and collaboration between parents, teachers, and staff to promote a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Send emails to parents with child and class updates.
  • Manage Village Park Instagram

• Administrative Duties 
  • Prepare monthly newsletter.
  • Manage Village Park Preschool Instagram.
  • Complete assigned paperwork, including timecards and incident reports.

• Safety and Compliance 
  • ​​​​​​​Enforce policies and procedures related to child supervision, hygiene, emergency preparedness, and security measures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and materials to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of:
  • ​​​​​​​Early childhood education principles, curriculum development, and best practices.
  • Customer service techniques

  • Communication and interpersonal
• Experience and Education:
  • Completion of 24 semester units of Early Childhood Education
  • Teaching certification or license for early childhood education (preferred)
  • Possession of an appropriate California driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Class Times:

School Year (August-May)

Monday/Wednesday - 9am-11:15pm (2 year olds)

Tuesday/Thursday - 9:15am-11:30am (2 year olds)

Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday - 9am-12pm (3 year olds)

Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 8:45am-12:15pm (3 year olds)

Tuesday/Thursday - 12:30pm-3:30pm (3 year olds)

Summer Camp (June-August)

Monday- Friday - 9am-12pm (3-4 year olds)

Work Schedule:                    

8-20 Hours a week

Maximum of 960 hours per fiscal year                                                 

Note: These positions are part-time and do NOT have a benefits package. 

Salary:                   

$27.69-$34.30 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
