DEFINITION: This position reports to the Recreation Coordinator and/or Supervisor managing youth programs. This position involves a high level of management, coordination, and good communication skills. As Camp Director, you will oversee plans, direct and coordinate the daily activities and staff for Mill Valley Recreation Department and Community Center Summer Day Camp Program. You will may have up to 15 part-time staff reporting to you at one time, you may be required to lead the entire camp in coordination and planning on a daily/ weekly basis and you may be asked to arrive early or stay late to oversee/ assist with camp prep and cleaning up. This position requires a commitment to Mill Valley Summer Camp programming and may be between a 20 to 40 hour a week position. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Ability to develop, coordinate, plan, implement and supervise the day-to-day activities, themes and special events for an ongoing summer day camp. 
• Create and maintain a safe and creative camp environment. 
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communicate effectively with co-workers, parents, and campers. 
• Supervise, direct and motivate subordinate camp counselors and counselors-in-training. 
• Maintain registration, attendance, and activity records; ensure the proper pick-up/drop-off of campers.  

• Encourage good behavior, appropriate manners and active play by both staff and campers.  
• Possess strong leadership skills in one or more of the following areas: arts, crafts, sports, playground games, drama, songs/music, nature or special events. 
• Ability to lead groups of campers in various day camp activities. 
• Motivate staff and campers through example. 
• Must be a team player and have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. 

• Practice proper hygiene, with oneself and children, to deter the spread of disease (colds, flu, etc). 
• Respond professionally to emergencies, provide care according to the level of training.  
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. 
• Ability to speak English clearly and understandably. 

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education, training, and experience, which likely provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Salary

Child Care Aide: $16.50 - $19.50 per hour, part time, non-benefited, typically limited to 1,000 hours per year.  

Child Care Associate Teacher: $20.00 - $25.50 per hour, part time, non-benefited, typically limited to 1,000 hours per year.

CHILD CARE AIDE

This position will work directly with a Child Care Site Coordinator or Lead Teacher at varying pre-school or K-6/ K-8 school sites based on program needs. The Child Care Aide is responsible for leading activities and supervising small groups of children in State-funded Title V programs.

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. In addition to the expansion, the COO will work to ensure new renewable resources are added to meet the City's and State’s climate goals. The COO is responsible for forecasting service requirements and for planning, organizing and directing assigned resources of the electric utility division in order to meet those requirements. This includes developing and administering the department operations and capital improvement budgets. The COO is expected to exercise critical thinking and detail oriented oversight in ensuring that utility operations are smooth, efficient, and compliant, with responsibility for results including costs, methods, and staffing.

The Department

The Suisun City Fire Department was established in 1861. The men and women of SCFD take great pride in the customer service that they provide to all who live, work and travel through Suisun City. SCFD is a mission-driven fire agency that remains focused on customers and safety. It is our goal that all members strive to attain a synergistic balance of education, training, and experience to provide excellent emergency management on every call. SCFD is a combination agency staffed with both full-time and volunteer fire personnel. We currently operate two Type 1 Fire Engines, one Type 3 Fire Engine, Ladder Truck, three Command Vehicles, one Type 5 Fire Engine, Zodiac Rescue Boats, and one USAR Trailer.  The Suisun City Fire Department is an ALS (Paramedic) level department, supported by Medic Ambulance for transport services. Station 47 is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Position

The ideal candidate will have well-developed technical skills in the operation and maintenance of fire equipment and apparatus, and be self-motivated, team-oriented, embrace diversity and exercise sound judgment. Work requires a good understanding of first aid techniques and lifesaving methods. The nature of the work requires that the incumbent establish and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships within their own department, other Suisun City personnel, and the general public on an ongoing basis.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

• Operates, drives, and maintains pumps and all apparatus to effectively suppress fires.
• Assists with the overhaul, salvage, and cleanup operations at any incident.
• Delivers basic life support (BLS)/advanced life support (ALS) as a Paramedic.
• Answers general questions of the public and provides information.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Services or a closely related field;

Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible infrastructure and enterprise applications management experience in an IT environment consisting of multiple platforms, large-scale applications with multiple operating systems which included a minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California Class C Driver License and a satisfactory driving record is required. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications are highly desirable.

The City of Newark is seeking energetic, organized, and responsible individuals who enjoy working with school-age children. Recreation Leaders will assist in the implementation and planning of a wide variety of arts and crafts, sports, games, special events, and excursions.
