The City of Fremont City Manager's Office is recruiting for Management Analyst I/II (Communications/Legislative Affairs).

The Position

The City Manager’s Office has three Management Analyst I/II positions that are responsible for performing varied technical, professional administrative and analytical duties in support of a broad range of the City Manager's Office's operations. The City Manager’s Office is currently seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill a MA I/II position to help support the City’s state and federal legislative affairs and communications activities.

SPECIAL PAY INCENTIVES:

• Paramedic Pay: 5% Incentive Pay. Plus, the EMT/Paramedic Pay Pilot Program that runs through 6/30/2025 provides Paramedics with an additional 5% incentive pay. 
• Longevity Pay: 3% after 5 continuous years of service; 3% after 10 continuous years of service (total of 6%)
• Holiday Pay: 2% per pay period in lieu of observing time off for legal holidays.

 

The Department

The Suisun City Fire Department was established in 1861. The men and women of SCFD take great pride in the customer service that they provide to all who live, work and travel through Suisun City. SCFD is a mission-driven fire agency that remains focused on customers and safety. It is our goal that all members strive to attain a synergistic balance of education, training, and experience to provide excellent emergency management on every call. SCFD is a combination agency staffed with both full-time and volunteer fire personnel. We currently operate two Type 1 Fire Engines, one Type 3 Fire Engine, Ladder Truck, three Command Vehicles, one Type 5 Fire Engine, Zodiac Rescue Boats, and one USAR Trailer.  The Suisun City Fire Department is an ALS (Paramedic) level department, supported by Medic Ambulance for transport services. Station 47 is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

The Position

The ideal candidate will have well-developed technical skills in the operation and maintenance of fire equipment and apparatus, and be self-motivated, team-oriented, embrace diversity and exercise sound judgment. Work requires a good understanding of first aid techniques and lifesaving methods. The nature of the work requires that the incumbent establish and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships within their own department, other Suisun City personnel, and the general public on an ongoing basis.

 

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

 

• Operates, drives, and maintains pumps and all apparatus to effectively suppress fires.
• Assists with the overhaul, salvage, and cleanup operations at any incident.
• Delivers basic life support (BLS)/advanced life support (ALS) as a Paramedic.
• Answers general questions of the public and provides information.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

*Effective July 2024, this position will receive a 2.5% base salary increase.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration. 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims management including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. You will also serve as a consultant to City departments and employees on Risk Management (workers' compensation, safety, contract insurance) problems and communicate regularly with internal and external parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and activities, minimize risk, and advise of claim developments. This position will also support the City's leave management program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

One (1) year of experience at a level equivalent to the City’s class of Associate Management Analyst or Administrative Analyst.

When assigned to a specific functional area as noted above, additional knowledge and experience in such area may be desirable.

Public sector experience is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record is required. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. 

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting to fill two vacancies and to establish an employment list for the classification of Social Worker II. Under general supervision, incumbents perform moderately complex social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; conducting field visits; identifying, assessing and arranging alternative solutions to clients’ needs and obstacles; carry a moderately complex caseload; prepare and monitor plans; prepare court reports, depending on area of assignment; and perform related work as assigned. The Department

The City of Fremont's Human Services Department is recognized nationally and internationally for its innovation and effective programs. The Department works to sustain the City’s social service infrastructure, which promotes a healthy and safe environment for all residents. The Department also directly offers services to residents throughout their life course from infants to elders. Services offered to families are designed to help them become or remain self-sufficient.

The Position

The City of Fremont’s Human Services Department is currently looking for temporary employees to work evening shifts, from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. From December 1st through April 30th, 2024, the City of Fremont will operate the Winter Relief Program to provide a safe and welcoming  environment  for  individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Participants will  have  access  to  shelter  rooms  in  local hotels and an opportunity to access additional services. Shelter monitors  will  work  under  the direction of a Human Service Specialist II.

This position will require up to 20 hours of work per week.

Examples of Duties

• This position is responsible for maintaining the health and safety of homeless individuals and families who are living on the streets or in their cars and need emergency shelter from cold weather and rain.
• Welcome all new program participants and work compassionately with those who may have difficulty engaging with service providers.
• Effectively resolve conflicts among participants and de‐escalate potentially violent situations.
• Maintain a friendly, safe, and supportive environment by ensuring participant adherence to program rules, especially related to behaviors that may be unsafe.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies. As necessary, notify public safety personnel. Pick up meals and personal supplies and facilitate distribution to program participants. Maintain a collaborative working relationship with hotel staff.
• Maintain accurate records including a daily sign‐in sheet.
• Daily use of email to submit detailed reports regarding participant attendance, supply needs, on-site incidents including any 911 utilization and/or emergency responder activity, and information about clients who may need additional medical or behavioral follow-up.
• Monitor and document room condition to ensure rooms are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Other duties as assigned.
