JOB DESCRIPTION

The Tiny Tots Instructor will teach assigned classes of pre-school children ranging in ages from 18 months to 5 years old in enrichment, recreational and educational based programming (Tiny Tots Aide will assist).

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)

• Develop and instruct weekly lesson plans (i.e. art, free play, enrichment, and circle time).
• Supervise preschool age children indoors and outdoors.
• Maintains a variety of program records and prepares reports relevant to program area.
• Ensures that activities run smoothly and according to program objectives and guidelines and general department philosophy.
• Maintain direct communication with parents and families.
• Encourage and support early childhood development.
• Clean tables, floors and play areas when need arises.
• Participate in City sponsored special events which may occur on weekends and/or holidays
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

General supervision is provided by the Tiny Tots Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Be able to establish and maintain productive working relations with others
• Ability to tactfully and appropriately communicate with preschoolers and parents
• Ability and desire to work with young children
• Must have some knowledge of growth and developmental stages of 3-5 year old children

Tiny Tots Preschool Aide (Activity Specialist II)

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have ECE units, or educational equivalent, or experience caring for children

Tiny Tots Preschool Lead (Activity Specialist III)

• Must have 6 academic units at the junior college level in an Early Childhood Education program and 18 months experience in a recreation or structured child care setting for preschoolers.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT

• Must be able to handle sensitive and/or stressful situations or information with tact, discretion and significant awareness of confidentiality
• Must effectively communicate with adults and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds
• Willingness to comply with suspected child abuse reporting (11166.5 PC)
• Employees are required to be certified in Adult/Child CPR & First Aid from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or supervisor approved equivalent. Employees must be certified 30 days prior to the first day of work.
• Fingerprinting and TB test are required
• Must submit verification of legal right to work in the United States as a condition of employment

POSITION

A Dispatcher I is a civilian employee of the Police Department who performs a variety of tasks in the Department’s Support Services Division. The Dispatcher I receives incoming calls for police assistance and response; acts as a primary Dispatcher when appropriate; performs a variety of general support duties related to police communications; completes a wide variety of general clerical duties.

The Dispatcher I duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Answer emergency and non-emergency police related phone calls, help prioritize requests for service based upon available resources, receive radio requests and handle accordingly, type, process and file a wide variety of reports and materials including memos, letters, complaints, declarations, warrants, citations, crime and traffic reports.  Assists Department personnel and the public in person and by phone performing record checks, collecting fees and mailing requested reports to outside agencies in accordance with established regulations.  A Dispatcher I may be assigned to work various hours, shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime.

QUALIFICATIONS

A combination of education and work experience including 2-3 years of general office work involving typing of varied materials, public contact, general filing and basic record keeping; type at least 40 wpm net.  Knowledge of business English, spelling; modern office practices and procedures; record keeping. Ability to learn assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed routine; write English legibly; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; type and learn the operation of other standard office equipment; a willingness to work varying shifts; and to learn radio dispatching skills.

• Salary:  $6,252 - $8,059 per month
• Medical Benefits: Choice of coverage with Kaiser or Blue Shield. The City pays 80% of monthly premiums at each coverage level. Under general supervision, lead and conduct activities in the delivery of recreation program areas including preschool, playground, after school programs, parks, teens, sports, special events, and senior citizen; Oversee the proper use of a community recreational facility; perform a variety of custodial tasks; assist the public and staff in their use of the facility.

The Recreation Leader classification is distinguished from the Recreation Aide level in the complexity of duties assigned, independence of action taken, the amount of time spent performing the duties, the nature of the public contact made, and its training responsibilities of new staff. Positions at this level are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned area of responsibility.

The Recreation Leader position may be assigned to the following areas:

Aquatics: Under general supervision, this assignment includes setting up and cleaning community recreational facilities before, during and after activities and rentals.

Community Events/Festivals: Under general supervision, this assignment supports city-wide special events with set-up and take-down of furniture and equipment; enforcing safety rules and regulations; and maintaining orderly participant conduct at various events.

Park Monitor: Under general supervision, this assignment monitors patrons, patrols parks and enforce rules at City of Dublin parks to ensure that permit areas are safe, clean, functional; and notify the Police Services as to any irregularities when appropriate.

Preschool Program: Under general supervision, this assignment assists with organization and instruction of preschool classes for children 18 months through 5 years. Duties also include developing and directing weekly lesson plans and activities.

Shannon Community Center: Under general supervision, this assignment oversees the proper use of a community recreational facility; performs a variety of custodial tasks; and assists the public and staff in their use of the facility.

Sports Programs: Under general supervision, this assignment is responsible for officiating a variety of sports league events and also serves as official scorer-of-record at sports events.

Supervision Received and Exercised: 
Receive general supervision from a Recreation Coordinator.
 
May receive technical and/or functional supervision from a Program Specialist. Exercise technical and functional supervision over Recreation Aide.

PROGRAM LEADER (SPORTS AND FITNESS)

Salary Range: $16.54 to $22.05/hour, DOE

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefitted position; 15-20 hours per week (not to exceed 950 hours per calendar year); predominantly afternoon/evening schedule, some weekends.

DEFINITION

The Town seeks gym monitors, scorekeepers, and leaders for a variety of youth and adult sports. Sports may include, but are not limited to basketball, softball, and bocce ball. Sports knowledge is preferred. All staff will be cross-trained for multiple sports. CPR/FA certification is recommended but not required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Program Leader receives supervision from the Program Coordinator and/or Program

Assistant.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Scorekeeping and gym monitoring.

The Department

The Position

As a key member of the Police Department's management team, the Police Records Administrator (Manager) plans, organizes and supervises the activities of a Police Records Unit engaged in the processing of police reports and warrants, the accessing of law enforcement information networks, the preparation of records for prosecution, and reception of the general public. The incumbent has considerable latitude in the application of departmental policy, following general guidelines and professional and administrative standards in accomplishing assignments. The Police Communications Call Taker (Per Diem) receives emergency and non-emergency call for service, performs technical support duties in police department communications, and performs related duties as required. The position requires excellent customer service and communication skills.
