As a Teacher at one of our Livermore locations, you will work closely with a dynamic team to provide comprehensive care and education to young children. Under immediate supervision, you will be responsible for designing and executing curriculum, facilitating instructional activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in our programs.

The position offers a schedule of 28-32 hours per week and provides health and welfare benefits.   You may be required to work at different preschool or Extended School Services (ESS) sites as needed.

1. Plans, maintains, and implements a diverse range of curriculum activities, lesson plans, and positive child development strategies for Youth Services to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.

4. Assists with child assessments and environmental rating scales.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED, and 12 core units in college level coursework in child development; 24 core units are desirable.
• One-year relevant experience working in a childcare facility.

Knowledge of:

• Principles and practices of curriculum planning and development.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied and are performed with greater independence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION

Under general supervision, provides highly responsible administrative support to the City Clerk to assist with the day-to-day operations of the City Clerk’s Office. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Work schedule is flexible up to 30 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides administrative support to the City Clerk and acts as staff liaison in screening visitors, answering callers, handling complaints, and directing electronic communications to appropriate parties.
• Prepares and coordinates the publication, posting, and distribution of legal notices for public meetings and hearings; ensures that legal requirements are met for publication and posting of agendas and minutes.
• Provides assistance to the public and City staff by helping to identify records and information relevant to public records requests; ensures timely response to all requests and justifies any nondisclosure and/or ensures deletion of any portions that are exempt from the mandate of the Public Records Act.
• Receives and processes claims against the City, subpoenas, and summons; facilitates accurate and timely processing of legal documents such as agreements, contracts, deeds, resolutions, and ordinances.
• Administers records management program, including maintenance, protection, retention, and disposition of records in accordance with appropriate legal and operational requirements; provides direction to staff regarding records management practices.
• Maintains the electronic documents management system of all meeting minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts and agreements, County recorded documents, and other vital City records.
• Assists the City Clerk in Fair Political Practices Commission filings such as Statements of Economic Interest for City Council members, commissioners, and designated employees.
• Types a variety of materials, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature; performs a variety of administrative support tasks such as photocopying information, and maintaining records and files; assists with the sorting of incoming mail and various administrative support on an as-needed basis.

POSITION INFORMATION

The Seasonal Park Ranger Aide position requires flexibility with a variable schedule including split shifts and on call availability from May through Labor day.  The site location is at Camp Shelly in South Lake Tahoe.  Lodging will be provided.

This is the entry-level classification in the Park Ranger series responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance for District parks and open space areas and facilities.  Incumbents at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies.  Work is reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements.  This class is distinguished from the Park Ranger in that the latter provides enforcement of land use laws and regulations and serves as a Peace Officer under the California Penal Code.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

10. Assists in emergencies involving injury, illness, fire, hazardous water conditions, or other critical incidences by notifying proper authorities; provides first aid/medical care to the level of training.
11. Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.
12. Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
13. Performs administrative tasks, such as attending meetings and training, preparing reports, monitoring expenditures, and maintaining records.
14. Assists with District special events as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Education:

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Public Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

• Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in economic development, redevelopment, real estate development, or related field including two (2) years of supervisory experience.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Public Health Nurse Intern/Public Health Nurse in the Health and Human Services Department. This position provides the full range of public health nursing services including teaching, health assessment, and counseling services in homes, clinics, schools and community centers in connection with the prevention and control of diseases and adverse health conditions. Public Health Nurses are assigned to specific programs such as Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health, California Children’s Services, Child Health and Disability Prevention, Foster Care and communicable disease control. Public Health Nurse Intern: is a recruiting and training level class established to qualify candidates for duties as a PHN in Yuba County Health & Human Services Department. Under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas while pursuing a Public Health Nurse Certification. Upon satisfactory completion of the PHN Certification, the PHN Intern are eligible for promotion to the level of PHN. Incumbents who do not successfully complete the PHN certification as prescribed herein may be released from employment.

Public Health Nurse: is the entry level in this class series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas. As experience is gained, assignments become more complex and are performed under more general supervision.
