Join the City of Berkeley's Planning and Development Department in its effort to protect the health, safety, and welfare of citizens by enforcing building codes and regulations. As a Certified Building Inspector I or II, you will perform skilled inspection work in the enforcement of building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, zoning and related codes and regulations that govern new building and housing construction, additions, alterations, repairs and use of existing buildings. This work includes resolving problems and complaints to final resolution.

The Seasonal Maintenance Worker position performs a variety of entry-level and unskilled labor, maintenance and repair tasks in various public works operations, such as park maintenance, landscape maintenance, creek and catch basin maintenance, street maintenance, and janitorial and facility maintenance.

LARPD is seeking a summer intern to support the Community Outreach Department. Applicants should have the equivalent of one year of college credits completed toward a degree. Candidates interested in learning about communications, content creation, and social media with a government agency will be given preference. Under general supervision, plans, performs maintenance and repair work of the City’s utility systems and does related work as required.
The Water Operator is an entry-level position. Incumbents learn and perform a variety of semi-skilled duties in the construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of the City’s potable water distribution and distribution, wastewater, stormwater systems, equipment, and facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This is a part-time non-benefited position. Work schedule is flexible up to 29 hours per week.
This position will be assigned to Utilities Division of the Public Works Department.

To perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities. The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current temporary/part-time vacancy in our Community Services Department and to create a list for future vacancies.
Candidates who do not currently meet the minimum qualifications for the Facilities Maintenance Worker I position may be considered for an Intern position instead.
