Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), provides a broad spectrum of Trauma Informed mental health and substance use services for children, youth, families, adults and older adults. We provide behavioral health in diverse settings including community outpatient clinics, corrections, field-based settings such as homeless encampments and shelters, and through a network of community agencies and independent providers who offer outpatient services, residential treatment, rehabilitation and other services for adults. BHRS Adult and Older Adult Services serves residents of San Mateo County age 18 years and older with severe functional impairments due to a serious mental illness and a/or multiple co-occurring, substance, medical and/or developmental disorder. The Adult Psychiatric Social Worker/Marriage Family Therapists an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team, providing a broad range of psychosocial interventions with the goal of improving the quality of life of the client.

The ideal candidates will possess:

• Skills in assessment, diagnostic, and evaluation techniques.
• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed care principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities (e.g. evidence-based practices).
• Experience providing treatment for adults with serious mental illness.
• Experience delivering services to adult consumers who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Experience delivering services in diverse populations for adults and older adults. In a variety of settings (e.g. outpatient clinics, homeless encampments, shelters and correctional settings).
• Comprehensive and timely documentation skills (e.g. progress notes, assessments, client care plans, etc.).

Example of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform initial diagnostic evaluation noting behavioral symptoms which may indicate a psychiatric or co-occurring disorder and interpersonal or family dysfunction;
• Perform risk assessments; Determine and develop appropriate treatment plans for all clients in the caseload;
• Provide individual, group and family therapy, care coordination, case management, rehabilitation, and crisis intervention as appropriate;
• Participate in developing individual and group treatment plans utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic, psychosocial and psycho educational modalities;
• Conduct home visits and/or field-based services;
• Crisis Intervention;
• Make client referrals and plan discharge procedures;
• Assess progress of clients on a selected basis and propose modifications to rehabilitation plans in order to meet goals agreed upon by the clients/patients;
• Prepare and maintain psychosocial case histories for use in diagnostic evaluations and of patient progress;
• Supervise doctoral interns, masters level student interns and trainees;
• Provide outreach, engagement and refer clients to appropriate mental health program service resources;
• Collect and evaluate psychiatric information such as case histories, behavior patterns and family relationships;
• Analyze factors which exert an adverse effect upon health problems, treatment, or recovery, or which may contribute to or are responsible for mental illness or affect the potential for rehabilitation;
• Conduct treatment groups in schools and other community settings with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children toward the goal of achieving higher functioning in interpersonal relationships and learning.
• Work as a psychiatric team member with other treatment disciplines;
• Utilize Trauma Informed Care and other Evidence-based practices
• Provide consultation and education services. Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and responding to after-hours calls for Crisis and Outreach and HEAL;
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure/Certification

• Psychiatric Social Worker I/II: Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Intern (Associate Clinical Social Worker). An individual hired in this classification must become licensed within six years from the date of employment as a Clinical Social Worker issued by the State of California. For Psychiatric Social Worker II, current California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required.
• Marriage & Family Therapist I/II: Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Intern (Associate Marriage and Family Therapist). An individual hired in this classification must become licensed within six years from the date of employment as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California. For Marriage & Family Therapist II, current California license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is required.

Sausalito Parks and Recreation is Seeking Vibrant Skilled Recreation Leaders

The City of Sausalito is recruiting for part-time temporary help for the spring and summer seasonal recreation activities and City-wide events.  The first of these is the Bocce League referee.

Bocce Referee
As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Bocce Referee, you are responsible for set-up, management, and cleanup of scheduled Bocce matches. You are the enforcer of rules, an impartial judge, and an advocate for fun and fair play. The ideal candidate will maintain a positive attitude and provide a friendly environment when communicating with teams and keeping score. This position reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor.   The ideal candidate must meet all minimum requirements as listed below and be confident and capable of dealing with conflict and intense games. 

To be considered for this position, you must be available for the entirety of the season:

• March 5 - May 16 Tues-Thurs (approximately)
• Saturdays May 11th &18th 

Event Staff

As a Sausalito Parks and Recreation Event Staff member, you are responsible for actively participating in set-up, cleanup, and management of your assigned event.  You must arrive on time and remain until the event leader release you after the event.   Event staff may set up chairs, tables, stages, corridors, and barriers.  You may be asked to perform traffic control or direct drivers to parking.   The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, smile often, meet all of the minimum requirements below, remain calm under pressure and in the face of adversity, be cheerful, and love the diversity of people. 

The minimum requirements for the position are:

• Reliable transportation to and from games or events
• Ability and commitment to arrive on time and remain until duties are completed and you are released

LARPD is seeking a summer intern to support the Community Outreach Department.  Applicants should have the equivalent of one year of college credits completed toward a degree.  Candidates interested in learning about communications, content creation, and social media with a government agency will be given preference.  Interested candidates should complete an application online. Community Outreach Communications Project Plan 

The Community Outreach team is seeking a summer intern for a 10–12-week assignment.  The goal of the internship is to gain valuable experience capturing and creating content, assisting throughout the district.  

Key duties 

• Visit Summer Programs to Capture Video and Photo content 

• Draft Program Highlight and Promotional Social Posts 

• Edit Community Facing District-Wide Videos

Timing 

June-August 9th.  Interns may start and end later but need to be present for the core Sessions slated for the entire month of June, July and through August 9th.  

Work hours will be Monday – Friday, 25-30 hours per week during the 12 weeks of employment.  The pay rate will be $20 per hour.  All interns will be required to successfully complete a Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and undergo a TB test as a condition of employment.

Role description

Under direction, the 2595 Senior EAP Counselor provides direction and supervision to counselors providing organizational wellness services and engaged in direct client counseling; provides clinical assessments, short-term counseling, and referral of City and County employees experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems; conducts seminars, trainings, and consultations on issues related to personal and organizational wellness; prepares records and reports; and performs related duties as required.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Participates in the selection of, trains and evaluates a team of journey level counselors.
2. Provides clinical assessment, short-term counseling, and referral of City and County employees experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems, such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional concerns or relationship issues; provides counseling to family members and significant others as appropriate.
3. Educates employees, managers, supervisors, and union personnel regarding employee assistance program service offerings, how to access services, early identification of personal and workplace problems, and referrals to the program; directs the development of programs, resources, and EAP initiatives.
4. Provides consultation to managers, supervisors, union personnel, human resources professionals, clinical specialists, and family members regarding specific issues of individual employees in conformance with program and confidentiality policies; recommends specific methods or techniques for resolving performance problems, including appropriate managerial and supervisory interventions.
5. Directs development of, creates, and facilitates seminars and trainings for employees and management on personal, interpersonal and organizational issues such as the effective management of stress, anger and emotions, workplace negativity and dealing with difficult people.
6. Provides crisis intervention, trauma response, and mediation/conflict resolution services as necessary.
7. Leads evaluation efforts to determine the effectiveness of the overall program and specific services provided and prepares the reports.
