The City of San Jose is seeking an Enterprise Client Services Manager (Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst) for the Information Technology Department (ITD). 

The Information Technology Department houses a team of customer-centric technicians and engineers to support the use of technology by City employees and the public. As the Enterprise Client Services Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing that team of engineers and technicians ensuring excellent endpoint management services and day-to-day customer support services. 

The City of San José believes in the model of utilizing technology as a means for increased optimization as well as cost savings. With significant technology refresh and upgrade, there is a greater need for highly skilled technical hands-on leadership, oversight, and project management. 

This position requires strong technical hands-on experience and leadership skills as well as the ability to take initiative and direct others. Key duties may include but are not limited to:

• Managing a Tier-1 helpdesk team to provide excellent customer service requested via online tickets, phone, and walkups.  
• Providing endpoint services management for UCaaS/VoIP, PCs (Windows 10/11 OS), conference rooms, Zoom, etc.
• Designing and overseeing implementation for newly introduced client service project initiatives and ensuring operationalization transitions to the IT Tier-1 support.

A short snapshot of the Business Solutions DCIO’s portfolio includes over 140 primary business applications, including a technical environment that spans Oracle (PeopleSoft/Taleo/Hyperion), Cayenta, SimpliGov, Microsoft O365/SharePoint/OneDrive/MSSQL), multiple cloud providers, enterprise reporting and data visualization solutions, and specialized applications in revenue, treasury, utilities billing, et al.

The City of San José Information Technology Department (ITD) seeks an exceptional senior manager to lead the City Portfolio-Products-Projects Office (C3PO) as Division Manager. 

The Portfolio-Products-Projects Office is a six year-old division in the City. Deconstructing traditional project management, San Jose’s C3PO is responsible for (1) executing technology and innovation initiatives with success; (2) ensuring strong business value from City products and platforms over time; and (3) building organizational capacities for the City to consistently transform and improve. 

The C3PO Division Manager will inspire team members and nurture a culture that is truly collaborative and customer-centric towards these ends. The position is critical to the City achieving ambitious goals to innovate, accelerate delivery of solutions, support deep collaboration and deliver remarkable value to the San Jose organization and community. 

The leader of the C3PO will work directly with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Assistant Chief Information Officer (ACIO) to build the team through a significant hiring phase. In its first five years, the C3PO already drastically improved technology execution success rates, earning the trust of partner departments. • Ensure successful project execution;
• Deliver continuously high business value from the City’s products and platforms through expert lifecycle management; and

Specific examples of work priorities over the next 18 months include: My San Jose, Business Process Automation, Integrated Permitting System and Development Services Upgrade and Transformation, Vehicle Blight service request management, 3-1-1 contact redesign, Business Tax system, emergency management technology refresh, IoT platforms and controls, infrastructure initiatives, and other efforts at the forefront nationally. Work is measured on the basis of hitting targets for cost, schedule, scope/quality, and realization of value at the customer level.

AC Transit is seeking a Project Manager I (Utility Location and Marking) in the Capital Projects department. Under general direction, serves as project manager for routine to moderately complex projects and assists higher-level project managers on more complex projects as needed. This is the experienced level within the Project Manager series. There are four (4) levels within the series, which are distinguished from one another by the technical complexity of the assigned duties and the level of discretion and independent judgment exercised. Positions at this level are responsible for performing project management activities for routine to moderately complex projects.

Maintain and upgrade as appropriate existing utility location documentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a field directly related to the area to which assigned. For Engineering/Capital Projects: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or a related field.

Experience: Four (4) years of experience in the professional field required by the assigned special projects or two (2) years that involved responsibilities at a level equivalent to the District's classification of Project Coordinator. Years of experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a two for one basis; two (2) years of experience may be submitted for one (1) year of education).

Highly Desirable: 

• Ability to read and understand as-built plans, including construction plans
• Ability to observe construction work performed by others that impacts District's utilities to ensure any site restoration is done to code.
• Must understand the 811 / USA Alert system and program, how it works, how to monitor for projects that may impact our District assets.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of an evaluation of the applicant's training and experience based on the application and responses to the Job Specific Questions. Only the candidates whose backgrounds best match the position will be invited to proceed in the selection process. Additional phases of the selection process will consist of one or more interviews, one of which may include a practical/writing exercise.

1. Please describe your experience in creating and maintaining reporting databases in Oracle and MSSQL.
2. In your experience working with Power BI tools, please describe what features and functionalities you have used and your level of expertise working with each of those.
