To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the removal of blight from City property.  Positions allocated to this class are expected to perform skilled and complex maintenance including litter, weed, and debris removal duties and to work with third party contractors.

The purpose of the recruitment is to fill a current vacancy at the Woodland Police Department, Homeless Outreach Street Team, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate for this position will have strong communication and customer service skills and possess the ability to mediate or de-escalate conflict. Candidates should possess an awareness of their surroundings and roadway dangers. They should be willing to work in a variety of conditions exposing them to inclement weather, as well as vehicle traffic. The ability to prioritize work and maintain deadlines would be ideal. Candidates should possess the ability to foster good working relationships with local business owners and other agencies and be able to work in a fast-paced environment where task completion is paramount.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Work to complete required duties for the City’s Blight Abatement Team such as removal of graffiti, removal of abandoned camps, litter clean-up, power washing, removal and clean-up of bio-hazards and human waste, removal of fallen leaves and minor landscaping clean-up, as well as assist in the execution and implementation of special events that take place within the City limits.
• Work in cooperation with staff from other City departments. 
• Fulfill the tasks assigned to them with attention to detail, speed, and a customer service-oriented attitude.
• Be self-directed in completing tasks and determining the next priority of work. 
• Comply with policies and procedures of the Department’s Illness and Injury Prevention Program.
• Utilize proper safety precautions and set a positive example for others. 
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance at City Hall or Police Department is an essential function of the position, in that the employee must be present at work to complete assigned tasks.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide general information to the public, other City departments, and vendors pertaining to area of assignment. Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on assigned equipment.  

The work environment is located primarily outdoors and consists of completing tasks involving litter, weed, debris and graffiti removal, painting and biohazard abatement. Additional tasks include cleaning of walkways, street gutters, alleyways, and landscape areas. Conditions range from working outside in all types of weather conditions. Some work will involve hazardous and unsanitary conditions. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without regular direct supervision. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.

Meet stand-by program requirements and serve in a stand-by status after regular working hours and respond to emergency call-outs.  Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, scheduling of work, and employee evaluations.   Requisition of materials and supplies for assigned facilities and projects.   Instruct subordinates in proper work techniques, use of equipment and safety practices and requirements. Work cooperatively with others.  Drive vehicles and equipment as required.  

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.  

Experience:

One (1) year of experience performing duties comparable to those of a Maintenance

Worker I.

Bilingual:  Knowledge of a second language is beneficial.

License and Certificate:

Required upon hire, possession of valid Class C California Driver's License.

Forklift Certification, First Aid and CPR certifications, is required prior to permanent appointment.

Possession of a valid Class B or Class A California Driver's License is a plus.

SALARY

Community Enhancement Specialist
$4,804.06 - $6,131.34 /month
$2,217.26 - $2,829.85 /bi-weekly
$27.72 - $35.37 /hour

Future salary growth includes 4% increase effective July 2024, a 1% increase effective January 2025, a 4% increase in July 2025 and a 1% increase effective January 2026.

Tri-City is currently looking to fill one (1) vacancy for a full time Office Assistant position, within our Medical Records/ Front Office Department. The Office Assistant position is for experienced clerical staff who will provide a variety of clerical and administrative program support duties within a behavioral health clinical setting.

The Construction Secretary will assist the Chief of Construction, Construction Services Manager and the Construction Project Analyst with administrative tasks within the division.

Supervision

This position reports to the Chief of Construction. Assorted tasks may be supervised by the Construction Services Manager and the Construction Project Analyst.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position, occasionally move about inside the office to access supplies and office machinery, frequently communicate and exchange information, review handwritten, electronic and facsimile documents, and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. The employee must occasionally move items weighing up to 20 pounds inside the office.

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week with some scheduling flexibility. Occasional overtime work on evenings or weekends upon prior approval by supervisor. The position will work out of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens but may be required to travel to various other locations. Offices at the River Center are spread among multiple buildings and floors. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration. 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims management including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. You will also serve as a consultant to City departments and employees on Risk Management (workers' compensation, safety, contract insurance) problems and communicate regularly with internal and external parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and activities, minimize risk, and advise of claim developments. ABOUT THE POSITION: Office Assistant I will receive immediate direction from the Senior Administrative Assistant, with additional direction given by the Business Services Supervisor. They provide a variety of clerical support and perform a wide range of customer service-related tasks in a fast paced, high touch environment. This position requires the ability to multi-task and respond to multiple requests from customers with professionalism and courtesy.

HOURLY RATE: $18.00 – $25.00 an hour, DOE.
