The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Public Health Nurse Intern/Public Health Nurse in the Health and Human Services Department. Upon satisfactory completion of the PHN Certification, the PHN Intern are eligible for promotion to the level of PHN. THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for a special individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Children’s Outpatient (COP) Department. The Clinical Therapist I/II provides behavioral health clinical intervention and recovery services to assigned clients and their families; develops treatment plans and performs individual, group, and family psychotherapeutic counseling, routine and emergency assessment, crisis intervention, and related treatment services; manages an assigned caseload of adults, juveniles, and/or children; provides consultation to other staff, programs, and agencies related to treatment needs and plans; and performs related duties as assigned.

San Mateo County Health's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division is seeking a responsible, innovative leader and skilled clinician for the position of Supervising Mental Health Clinician - East Palo Alto Services. This Supervising Mental Health Clinician will supervise and coordinate the work of mental health professionals and interns in the East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park geographic area in San Mateo County. This position works closely with community members and community providers to develop and sustain programming that is culturally and community responsive.

This position will participate in program administration, planning and evaluation. The Supervising Mental Health Clinician supervises and guides the clinical team who provides services to seriously emotionally disturbed youth and their families, and seriously mentally ill adults. Services provided include: medication assessment and management; individual, group and family therapy; psychological assessment; case management; rehabilitation services; and crisis intervention.

The current vacancy is in the East Palo Alto Community Counseling Center, located in East Palo Alto but will travel throughout San Mateo County for client visits, trainings and meetings.

The East Palo Alto Community Counseling Center offers a unique setting to provide services to a diverse population in a community-oriented clinic.

This position supervises a multidisciplinary team that provides clinical outpatient services to adults and children and their families. The team may include psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses and social workers and marriage and family therapists. The clinical teams also include master and doctoral level interns and psychiatric residents. In providing clinical services team members also relate to peer counselors and parent partners.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Knowledge of system of care principles and general services.
• Knowledge of program management techniques and practices.
• Demonstrated expertise and skill in clinical work with adults with serious mental illnesses and youth with serious emotional disturbances; and clients with co-occurring disorders.

San Mateo County Health is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Public Health Clinics Process Improvement Manager that plans, oversees, and provides a wide variety of administrative, analytical, and work-flow support on a County-wide level; analyzes practices and procedures and makes recommendations for organizational, operational, policy, and procedural improvements; conducts needs analysis, feasibility studies, and program evaluation for assigned projects and programs; develops, summarizes, and maintains administrative and fiscal records; fosters cooperative working relationships among County departments and acts as liaison with various community, public, and regulatory agencies; and performs related work as required.

• Policy and procedures facilitation: maintain inventory and lead update processes through completion, including occasional initial literature reviews or research and coordination of stakeholders.
• Change management and leadership synchronization: coordinate staff engagement, training, feedback to ensure successful system changes, facilitate leadership development and decision making, contribute to agendas, take meeting minutes, track on-going project work in support of meeting goals.

Ideal candidate will possess:

• Experience with project management and process improvement as the lead.

Correctional Health Services (CHS) therapists provide clinical mental health services utilizing Trauma Informed Care to inmates with mental illness, serious mental illness, or substance use disorders and/or cooccurring disorders of mental illness, serious mental illness, and chemical dependency. They also provide case management services and discharge planning by interviewing inmate patients to assess mental health needs and formulating treatment plans. They function as a team member in a multi-disciplinary work setting where they collaborate with Sheriff's Office staff to manage inmate patients' daily activities. Positions require some weekend hours.

Ideal Candidate

• A current license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist.
• Solid clinical treatment, assessment, and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities as they pertain to the justice involved adult population.
• Experience providing treatment for adults with serious mental illness.

San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), Child and Youth Services https://www.smchealth.org/bhrs, provides a broad spectrum of Trauma Informed mental health and substance use services for children, youth, and families focusing on prevention, early intervention and treatment of youth diagnosed as Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and/or substance use disorders. Minimum Qualifications

Licensure/Certification

• Psychiatric Social Worker I/II: Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Intern (Associate Clinical Social Worker). An individual hired in this classification must become licensed within six years from the date of employment as a Clinical Social Worker issued by the State of California. For Psychiatric Social Worker II, current California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required.
• Marriage & Family Therapist I/II: Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Intern (Associate Marriage and Family Therapist). San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), Child and Youth Services https://www.smchealth.org/bhrs, provides a broad spectrum of Trauma Informed mental health and substance use services for children, youth, and families focusing on prevention, early intervention and treatment of youth diagnosed as Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and/or substance use disorders. We provide services through specialty teams, outpatient clinics, in schools, and field-based teams in Daly City, San Mateo, Half Moon Bay, Redwood City and East Palo Alto. BHRS also provides services through a network of community agencies and independent providers who offer outpatient and wraparound services. BHRS supports treatment of the whole person to achieve wellness and recovery, and to promote the health and well-being of the people, families and communities we serve. Additionally for Residential Youth Treatment at Canyon Oaks Youth Center, Community Care Licensing requires providers working in this facility to maintain 40 hours of annual training related to the field, most of which are provided by the facility. Clinicians will also need to be trained in Professional Assault Crisis Training model (Pro-Act) upon hire.

The ideal candidates will possess:

• Strong assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills
• Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities
• Experience providing treatment for youth with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED).
• Experience delivering services to youth who have mental health and substance use conditions. Experience delivering services in specialty areas for infants, children, youth, adolescents and/or transitional age youth.
• Excellent documentation skills: progress notes, assessments, client care plans, etc.
• Demonstrated expertise, skill and interest in working with a broad range of clients of diverse cultures and backgrounds, such as Latino, Pacific Islander, African American, and LGBTQ, and an ability to provide culturally appropriate and proficient services.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with families, co-workers, other professionals, collaborative partners and the public.
• Experience using electronic health/medical record systems (e.g. AVATAR, SOARIAN).
• Fluency in Spanish and experience providing clinical services using bilingual skills.

Additionally, for Residential Youth Treatment

• Knowledge of the principles of Trauma Informed Care Experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting.
