Facility Specialist I – Office Staff

The City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department is looking responsible, enthusiastic,

and energetic individuals to join our Aquatics Section!

The Position:

This is a part-time receptionist position with the City of Mateo Aquatics Section for Summer 2024. Positions available at Joinville Swim Center and King Community Pool. It does not include any benefits other than coverage under Workman’s Compensation.
 

Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years old and have the ability to obtain a work permit, if under the age of 18. Applicants must have strong public contact and telephone answering skills and

present a mature and neat public appearance. Experience in handling money and computer knowledge is highly recommended. Familiarity with the Recreation Department and programs is desirable.

Office Staff Responsibilities:

Front Desk Receptionists answer patron questions and phone calls, directing inquiries to staff and or providing accurate informed responses concerning the Recreation Department programs, classes and activities. Receptionists will also accept and complete class registrations. The successful applicant will also be expected to accept fees and reconcile transactions.   Training is included.

About this role

This is a part-time, non-benefited position, 30-40 hours per week and limited to 960 hours in a fiscal year (July-June). Must be available from June 12th - August 10th

The Recreation Specialist I is our entry-level position within the Recreation Specialist series. Typically, applicants will have little or no experience. Applicants who have completed the City of San Mateo’s Leaders in Training program or equivalent series are desired. As a part of the Summer Camp team, staff will enjoy the challenges, triumphs, opportunities, responsibilities, laughs, rewards, and fun that make up each energizing and unique day at Summer Camp! This is a part-time, non-benefited position, up to 25-30 hours per week and limited to 960 hours in a fiscal year (July-June). Must be available from June 12th-August 10th.

The City of Belmont is seeking a Pool Manager / Senior Lifeguard to supervise the Summer Aquatics Program at the Carlmont High School Aquatics Center.

• Must hold current Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid Certificates. With proof of payment, the City will reimburse you for the cost of the lifeguard certification training at the end of the aquatics season.

Must hold current Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid Certificates by June 1st, 2024. With proof of payment, the City will reimburse you for the cost of the lifeguard certification training at the end of the aquatics season if certification is obtained in the 2024 year.
