San Mateo County Health's Aging and Adult Services Division is seeking qualified individuals for the position of In-Home Supportive Services Social Worker II/III. Social Workers provide a wide variety of welfare services in such areas as information and referral, protective services, out-of-home services, health related services, chore services, and other welfare services within the Health and the Human Services Agency.
 
The current vacancy is in the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program that provides in-home care for persons who cannot safely remain in their own home without such assistance. The recipients of IHSS are aged, blind and/or disabled and eligible for Medi-Cal. Disabled and/or blind minor children may also be eligible for IHSS. The Social Worker will make a home visit to determine eligibility for the program and to conduct an assessment to determine a range of service hours for particular tasks. The IHSS recipient or guardian is the IHSS employer and is responsible for hiring and supervising a provider for the care they receive.  The Social Worker will travel throughout the County to conduct home visits, attend meetings and perform other duties of the position.  The Social Worker will work in the San Mateo, CA Aging and Adult Services Office.
 
This IHSS Social Worker will conduct intake and/or on-going activities for IHSS recipients. Some of those activities include:
 

• Conduct initial IHSS assessments using a detailed State assessment tool.
• Complete necessary documents, paperwork, and work within different information technology systems.
• Conduct annual reassessments.
• Educate, support, and perform administrative duties for IHSS recipients and care providers to understand/comply with program regulations.
• Provide education, outreach, and community resources information.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and program integrity to ensure proper adherence to regulations.
• Prepare for and attend Fair Hearings.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings or other activities to support San Mateo County's vision for integrated services.
• Maintain oversight of case management needs for a caseload focused on serving IHSS recipients who are minors.
• Collaborate and facilitate service with care providers and other partner agencies.

 The ideal candidate will possess the following:
 

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• Experience providing clinical assessment for children, youth and adults with disabilities. 
• Understanding of human development and behavior within diverse populations.
• Ability to independently develop and implement sound case plans of action.
• Experience balancing client-centered care coordination and the accompanying administrative documentation.
• Familiarity in implementing program regulations.
• Superior organizational skills to manage a large caseload and related documents.
• Proficient computer skills to use several independent data base systems as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technology, policies and procedures.
• Excellent writing/documentation skills.
• Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Vietnamese or Farsi is a plus.

SALARY
Social Worker II:   $6,564.13 - $8,205.60/month
Social Worker III:  $7,741.07 - $9,673.73/month

Social Workers provide highly skilled, intensive casework services to individuals and their families and provide casework consultation within the department and to outside agencies.  Incumbents of positions at this level work with minimal supervision and are expected to have acquired the high degree of assessment skills required to perform care coordination and referral tasks in complex casework areas. Lead supervisory responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances dictate.

NOTE:  The list created from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies, including classified, unclassified, term, full-time, part-time, temporary and extra help vacancies. Unclassified positions are at-will and not covered by the San Mateo County Civil Service Rules.  Although the current Aging and Adult Services position is in IHSS, this list may also be used to fill positions in other programs such as Adult Protective Services (APS), Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP) and Linkages; as well as positions in the San Mateo Medical Center and Human Services Agency.

 

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:  California class C driver license or equivalent.

Education:
Social Worker II: Satisfactory completion of 30 semester units of social welfare and/or appropriate behavioral science courses.

Social Worker III: Satisfactory completion of 36 semester units of social welfare and/or appropriate behavioral science courses.

Experience: 
Social Worker II: Two years experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker I or higher in San Mateo County. Substitution: Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work.

Social Worker III:  Three years experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker II or higher in San Mateo County.  Substitution: Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work and two years experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker II or higher in San Mateo County.

We are seeking experienced 9-1-1 Police Dispatchers with a passion for public safety and effective communication skills to join our fast-paced Police department providing essential and impactful service to our community. Ability to hire above starting pay based on relevant experience. This is a demanding yet rewarding position which performs a variety of dispatching duties for emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatches police officers to calls for services, and operates a variety of communication equipment including radio, telephone, and computer systems.

Working shifts for this position consist of a 4/10 (varied) work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedules rotate every four months and may change to a 3/12 when needed.

Pay range for this position is $27.97 - $35.69 hourly, plus additional night shift pay, and amazing benefits!

• This position will receive a four percent (4%) cost of living increase effective April 2024
• The new pay range effective 2024 will be $29.10 - $37.13 hourly

Our Minimum Qualifications for consideration are:

Education:  Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Additional specialized training in communications or a related field is desirable. 

Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible communications or dispatch experience; or two years of law enforcement support experience utilizing one or more of the following systems: California Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems (CLETS), Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and/or Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS).

The Position

The Police Communications Call Taker (Per Diem) receives emergency and non-emergency call for service, performs technical support duties in police department communications, and performs related duties as required. The position requires excellent customer service and communication skills.

The City of San José Information Technology Department (ITD) seeks an exceptional senior manager to lead the City Portfolio-Products-Projects Office (C3PO) as Division Manager. 

The Portfolio-Products-Projects Office is a six year-old division in the City. Deconstructing traditional project management, San Jose’s C3PO is responsible for (1) executing technology and innovation initiatives with success; (2) ensuring strong business value from City products and platforms over time; and (3) building organizational capacities for the City to consistently transform and improve. 

The C3PO Division Manager will inspire team members and nurture a culture that is truly collaborative and customer-centric towards these ends. The position is critical to the City achieving ambitious goals to innovate, accelerate delivery of solutions, support deep collaboration and deliver remarkable value to the San Jose organization and community. 

The leader of the C3PO will work directly with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Assistant Chief Information Officer (ACIO) to build the team through a significant hiring phase. In its first five years, the C3PO already drastically improved technology execution success rates, earning the trust of partner departments. • Ensure successful project execution;
• Deliver continuously high business value from the City’s products and platforms through expert lifecycle management; and 
• Enable organizational capabilities and cultures that makes transformation through technology increasingly routine. 

Specific examples of work priorities over the next 18 months include: My San Jose, Business Process Automation, Integrated Permitting System and Development Services Upgrade and Transformation, Vehicle Blight service request management, 3-1-1 contact redesign, Business Tax system, emergency management technology refresh, IoT platforms and controls, infrastructure initiatives, and other efforts at the forefront nationally. Work is measured on the basis of hitting targets for cost, schedule, scope/quality, and realization of value at the customer level.

The Information Technology Department houses a team of customer-centric technicians and engineers to support the use of technology by City employees and the public. As the Enterprise Client Services Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing that team of engineers and technicians ensuring excellent endpoint management services and day-to-day customer support services.

Key duties may include but are not limited to:

• Managing a Tier-1 helpdesk team to provide excellent customer service requested via online tickets, phone, and walkups.  
• Providing endpoint services management for UCaaS/VoIP, PCs (Windows 10/11 OS), conference rooms, Zoom, etc.
• Designing and overseeing implementation for newly introduced client service project initiatives and ensuring operationalization transitions to the IT Tier-1 support.
• Managing the ticket queues ensuring quality service and promoting fast turnaround time.
• Maintaining and improving the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based operational standards and services.  
• Overseeing customer hardware/software quoting and purchasing operations.
• Monitoring and providing analysis of reports and metrics to management and customers as needed.
• Coordinating and managing key third-party vendor relationships.
• Creating and managing training and development plans for direct reports. 
• Tracking maintenance renewals and subscriptions for users-owned services, hardware, and/or applications.
• Managing escalations and/or complaints and utilizing best judgment and discretion to resolve them.
• Improving customer service quality results by conducting surveys; evaluating and re-designing processes; establishing and communicating service metrics; and, monitoring and analyzing results.
• Improving productivity, quality, and customer-service standard based on customer services metrics.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for one (1) individual to serve as a Psychiatrist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Clinic. The Psychiatrist I/II will provide medical and psychiatric treatment and diagnostic services to clients in the caseload of Tri-City and provide collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team in a public mental health agency. Provide integrated, effective, and high quality behavioral health care to the residents of Pomona, Claremont and La Verne with moderate to severe functional impairment due to mental illness.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Perform intake and diagnostic interviews on a scheduled and emergent basis.
• Participate in diagnostic staff evaluation of clients.
• Provide medical psychiatric treatment of clients.
• Maintain and disseminate medical records and reports in compliance with Federal, State and Agency regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, Public Law 111-005 (“HITECH Act”).
• Submit required statistical and other requested information on a timely basis.
• Consult and provide information to other agencies that are coordinating their work with that of the behavioral health service agency.

The Enterprise Strategic Support Engineer will be providing hybrid meetings and Council systems strategic support under the Productivity and Collaboration Application Program. The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Information Technology Engineer (EITE) I/II shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.
