The mission of the Finance Department is to strategically manage the City of San José's financial resources for all stakeholders.
The Finance Department has five core divisions:

• Accounting
• Administration
• Debt & Treasury Management
• Purchasing & Risk Management
• Revenue Management

The Finance Department works in partnership with the departments of Human Resources, Information Technology, and Public Works as the City's Strategic Support City Service Area to effectively develop, manage, and safeguard City fiscal, physical, technological, and human resources to enable and enhance the delivery of City services and projects. The Finance Department has a $24.2 million operating budget and 134 budgeted full-time equivalent (FTE) positions. Reporting directly to the City's Chief Procurement Officer, the Program Manager will work both independently and collaboratively, and will exhibit cross-functional expertise in procurement, contracting and information technology. The Program Manager will have five (5) direct reports (Senior Analysts) and five (5) indirect reports (4 Analysts and 1 Buyer) and will provide leadership, development, and mentorship for the reports. The essential job duties of this Program Manager position include:

• Plan, direct, and manage multiple procurement and contracting services for City departments.
• Lead all major Information Technology (IT) procurements.
• Work closely with the IT Department and City Departments on purchasing, contracting, and ongoing vendor management for all enterprise systems, including Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), payroll, online permitting, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, mobile data computers for the Police Department, and all network upgrades.
• Analyze, negotiate, and maintain the City's IT software licensing agreements.
• Provide guidance and assistance to City staff with developing scope of work and specifications for IT procurements.
• Evaluate procurement requests by City staff and advice on the appropriate procurement vehicles.
• Oversee preparation and issuance of documentation required for competitive solicitations including but not limited to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).
• Negotiate, prepare, and write complex contracts; negotiate and review contract amendments and change orders.
• Provide leadership, direction, and assistance to City departments on procurement and contract negotiation activities.
• Write and present action memoranda to the City Council and City Council Committees.
• Provide procurement-related training to City staff.
• Represent the Finance Department on cross department projects and meetings.

THE POSITION
Join us this summer season for a fun and engaging employment opportunity as a Senior Lifeguard to support the City of Rocklin's upcoming aquatic program and activities taking place at the Rocklin High School pool.

This class is distinguished from the Lifeguard by overall program responsibilities, training and experience. Senior Lifeguards serve as the Lead Lifeguard in providing technical and functional direction over Lifeguards.

Senior Lifeguards play a critical role in ensuring courteous and professional service to all pool attendees, including:

• Providing surveillance of swimmers and guests during City run swim hours. 
• Enforcing rules and regulation of City run aquatic facilities.
• Responding to emergency situations at assigned facilities. Administering and coordinating emergency first aid, as necessary.
• Providing superior customer service to all guests by assisting in a polite and expedient manner.
• Assisting the Parks and Recreation Supervisor with overseeing the safe and proper operation of assigned pool lifeguards. 
• Maintains order with disruptive patrons and exercises crowd control where warranted; refers escalated issues to the Parks and Recreation Supervisor.
• May be assigned other related duties. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One season of experience performing duties similar to that of a Lifeguard. Senior Lifeguard experience is highly desirable.

Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment.

REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

• Possession of a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate, or equivalent, by date of appointment.
• Possession of a current American Red Cross CPR/AED certificate, or equivalent, by date of appointment. (Obtained in ARC Lifeguard Certification)
• Possession of a current American Red Cross First Aid certificate, or equivalent, by date of appointment. (Obtained in ARC Lifeguard Certification)

If you do not currently possess the required American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate, or equivalent certificates, you may be eligible to attend a future certification training offered through the City of Rocklin, as a condition of employment. This offering will be City paid and at no cost to the conditional employee.

This is a temporary, part-time, at-will classification that assists the Parks and Recreation Department with City aquatic programs and activities. Temporary employees typically work less than twenty-eight (28) hours per week, not to exceed 990 hours in a fiscal year (July 1st through June 30th). The expected duration of the employment is six (6) months or fewer, dependent on the needs of the City. Anticipated scheduling needs are between the hours of 11:30am and 4:30pm.

Temporary employees are not eligible for benefits, excluding those benefits prescribed by law.

Please note: temporary part-time employment with the City of Rocklin is on an 'at-will' basis meaning the City or the employee may terminate employment at any time with or without cause. 

The Dixon Police Department is opening two positions for a Police Recruit to attend the Police Academy in July of 2024. The “Police Recruit” classification at the City of Dixon Police Department provides a unique opportunity for candidates to be sponsored through a P.O.S.T. certified basic academy during regular academy hours and any other scheduled departmental and academy exercise and activities.  Upon successfully completing the academy, Police Recruits shall be advanced to Police Officers and immediately begin the field training program to prepare them to function as solo officers. 

EMPLOYMENT PROCESSING:  Upon successful completion of academy, Police Officer appointees are required to complete a field training program and successfully complete an 18-month probationary period, and in accordance with Federal law, are to provide proof of identity and proof that they may legally work in the United States.

The City of Auburn is hiring to fill a part-time, Retired Annuitant Bus Driver I/II position.  Under general supervision, this position operates a bus over designated routes to transport passengers; maintains established schedule; and ensures passenger safety.

The Retired Annuitant position is limited to work no more than 960 hours per fiscal year.  Placement in the class series is dependent upon qualifications.  The salary range for each level is below:

• Bus Driver I:  $45,864 - $58,552
• Bus Driver II:  $48,152 - $61,484

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

• Drive a bus over a designated route to transport passenger in accordance with established time schedule; follow all rules and regulations including those in the vehicle code and motor carries commercial diver’s handbook.
• Pick up and off load passengers at pre-arranged locations; assist passengers in boarding and departing the bus; secure all wheelchairs with proper devices.
• Collect fares and issue passes to passengers.
• Ensure passenger safety on bus; maintain order among passengers on the bus.
• Render aid to passengers in an emergency.
• Transport passengers on field trips and to special events.
• Make regular inspections of bus including pre-trip safety inspections following established check lists; check belts, oil, and water levels.
• Perform minor repair and maintenance of bus; regularly wash bus, inside and out; maintain cleanliness of bus shelter.
• Maintain daily records of bus operation.
• Perform related duties as required.
