SPECIAL PAY INCENTIVES:

• Paramedic Pay: 5% Incentive Pay. Plus, the EMT/Paramedic Pay Pilot Program that runs through 6/30/2025 provides Paramedics with an additional 5% incentive pay. 
• Longevity Pay: 3% after 5 continuous years of service; 3% after 10 continuous years of service (total of 6%)
• Holiday Pay: 2% per pay period in lieu of observing time off for legal holidays.

The Department

The Suisun City Fire Department was established in 1861. The men and women of SCFD take great pride in the customer service that they provide to all who live, work and travel through Suisun City. SCFD is a mission-driven fire agency that remains focused on customers and safety. It is our goal that all members strive to attain a synergistic balance of education, training, and experience to provide excellent emergency management on every call. SCFD is a combination agency staffed with both full-time and volunteer fire personnel. We currently operate two Type 1 Fire Engines, one Type 3 Fire Engine, Ladder Truck, three Command Vehicles, one Type 5 Fire Engine, Zodiac Rescue Boats, and one USAR Trailer.  The Suisun City Fire Department is an ALS (Paramedic) level department, supported by Medic Ambulance for transport services. Station 47 is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Position

The ideal candidate will have well-developed technical skills in the operation and maintenance of fire equipment and apparatus, and be self-motivated, team-oriented, embrace diversity and exercise sound judgment. Work requires a good understanding of first aid techniques and lifesaving methods. The nature of the work requires that the incumbent establish and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships within their own department, other Suisun City personnel, and the general public on an ongoing basis.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

• Operates, drives, and maintains pumps and all apparatus to effectively suppress fires.
• Assists with the overhaul, salvage, and cleanup operations at any incident.
• Delivers basic life support (BLS)/advanced life support (ALS) as a Paramedic.
• Answers general questions of the public and provides information.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for consideration: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in environmental science, biology, chemistry or a related field.

The City of San Mateo Public Works Department is seeking an Assistant/Associate Engineer for Capital Improvement or Private Development assignments. What You’ll Do:

The Assistant/Associate Engineer will help support efforts to accomplish short and long-term project deliveries, while sustaining the City’s mission, vision, and goals.  The position is considered for either of the following fields of interest:

• The Development Section’s key assignments include reviewing development plans, technical studies/reports, maps, encroachment permits, building permits and being able to guide an applicant through the entitlement process regarding public impact and infrastructure. The role includes an emphasis on coordination among project stakeholders and various City review groups.
• The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Section’s key assignments include planning, designing, reviewing, and preparing detailed engineering plans, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, contracts, and related documents for a variety of capital improvement projects. Roles include project manager and construction manager, with duties that include leading coordination meetings, interfacing with construction contractors, outside engineering firms, construction inspectors, and other public agencies.

Streets & Construction Worker I:

This is an entry-level class under close supervision, performs any combination of the following duties on construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require worker with varied experience and ability.  Work is usually performed with other workers.  This class may advance to Streets & Construction Worker II after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency to meet the qualification of the higher-level class.

Prerequisites:   Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school (or G.E.D equivalent to graduation) and two years’ experience performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled construction and/or maintenance involving buildings, grounds, streets and sidewalks.

Water System Worker III (Lead Position)

($25.51- $32.66 per hour)

The City of Chowchilla is seeking a Water System Worker III to assist in the operation and maintenance of the City’s water distribution system, including pumps, mains, chlorinators, meters, and other equipment; and do related work as required on an assigned shift, under general supervision of the Utilities Systems Supervisor and/or Director of Public Works.

The City of Chowchilla is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II for the operation and maintenance of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.  The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II is a journey-level class in the Wastewater Plant Operator series which normally works under general supervision performing a group of related duties according to established procedures.  This position reports to the Utility Systems or Wastewater System Supervisor and does not supervise.

The City of Dixon Fire Department  offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants holding a career in fire safety and is recruiting to fill vacancies of full-time appointments for the position of Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic. 

To be considered eligible for Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic you must meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of 12 months of current and continuous experience as a full time/career firefighter with no separation time or break in service at time of application.
• Possess a current, valid Cal-JAC CPAT Card issued withing the last 12 months from date of application submission and ability to pass City of Dixon's aerial ladder agility test.
• Possession of a current, valid Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic license meeting the requirements of the California Emergency Medical Services Authority.
