Water System Worker III (Lead Position)

($25.51- $32.66 per hour)

The City of Chowchilla is seeking a Water System Worker III to assist in the operation and maintenance of the City’s water distribution system, including pumps, mains, chlorinators, meters, and other equipment; and do related work as required on an assigned shift, under general supervision of the Utilities Systems Supervisor and/or Director of Public Works.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II

($23.14 – 29.61 per hour)

The City of Chowchilla is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II for the operation and maintenance of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.  The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II is a journey-level class in the Wastewater Plant Operator series which normally works under general supervision performing a group of related duties according to established procedures.  This position reports to the Utility Systems or Wastewater System Supervisor and does not supervise.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I

($21.49– 27.50 per hour)

The City of Chowchilla is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I for the operation and maintenance of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I is a journey-level class in the Wastewater Treatment Plant series, which normally works under general supervision, performing a group of related duties according to established procedures.  This position reports to the Utility Systems or Wastewater System Supervisor and does not supervise. 

The City of Dixon Fire Department  offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants holding a career in fire safety and is recruiting to fill vacancies of full-time appointments for the position of Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic. 

To be considered eligible for Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic you must meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of 12 months of current and continuous experience as a full time/career firefighter with no separation time or break in service at time of application.
• Possess a current, valid Cal-JAC CPAT Card issued withing the last 12 months from date of application submission and ability to pass City of Dixon's aerial ladder agility test.
• Possession of a current, valid Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic license meeting the requirements of the California Emergency Medical Services Authority.
• Possession of a California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Certificate.
• Possession of a current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate issued by the American Heart Association or the equivalent. (Pediatric advanced life support & basic trauma life support or international trauma life support)
• Ability to possess Solano County Paramedic Accreditation within three (3) months of initial hire.
• A Firefighter Class C Endorsement and maintain clean driving record

Firefighter/Paramedic: This position performs firefighting, rescue, emergency medical care, fire prevention, equipment operation, and equipment maintenance activities to protect life and property; assumes primary responsibility for patient care at the scene of a medical emergency; and performs other related duties normally associated with the position of professional Firefighter/Paramedic.

The Dixon Fire Department offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants pursuing a career in fire safety.  The position performs fire prevention activities to save lives and property; responds to hazardous material incidents; responds to all fire alarms with designated company; prepares and operates the necessary equipment at the scene of the fire such as a hose, ladders, chemicals, bars, hooks, etc.; administers first aid to injured patrons; performs other acts required of a Firefighter at the scene of an emergency; carries out all duties assigned by Superior Officers.  Work involves irregular hours during the day and evenings, and on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Our Public Works Waterworks Division is hiring Waterworks Operators at levels I, II, and III, depending on qualifications. 

Details: 

Full-time regular position, alternative 9/80 work schedule with Monday or Friday off

Pay ranges depend on qualifications, and all come with Excellent Benefits (see below)

Waterworks Operator 1: $26.62 - $34.05 /hourly

Waterworks Operator 2: $29.33 - $37.46 /hourly

Waterworks Operator 3: $33.15 - $42.32 /hourly

* The above positions will receive a four percent (4%) cost of living increase effective April 2024. The new salary ranges effective April 2024 are listed below:

Waterworks Operator 1: $27.68 - $35.41 /hourly

Waterworks Operator 2: $30.50 - $38.95 /hourly

Waterworks Operator 3: $34.47 - $44.01 /hourly

Our Minimum Qualifications for consideration are:

Waterworks Operator I

Education/Training: Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

Experience: One year of increasingly responsible experience repairing and maintaining water distribution systems and equipment.

License or Certificate: Possession of, and ability to maintain, certification as Water Distribution Operator Grade D1. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class A driver’s license within one year of employment.

Waterworks Operator II

Education/Training: Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible experience repairing and maintaining water distribution systems and equipment.

License or Certificate: Possession of, and ability to maintain, certification as Water Distribution Operator D2. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class A driver’s license within one year of employment.

Waterworks Operator III

Education/Training: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in water distribution systems and/or water technology courses.

Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible experience repairing and maintaining water distribution systems and equipment.

License or Certificate: Possession of, and ability to maintain, certification as a Water Distribution Operator Grade D3. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class A driver’s license within one year of employment.
