THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael Parking Services Department is seeking a full-time Parking Attendant II.  Under direct supervision, this position provides general service and information to the public, is responsible for the upkeep, presentation, and general operations of all City parking areas.

The Parking Attendant II will perform a variety of Parking Operations duties and will have the authority to make some operational decisions.  This position will perform basic equipment maintenance based on the presence of fairly clear guidelines from which to make those decisions, and the availability of supervision in non-routine circumstances.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

• Assists the public at all City parking locations, providing general information about the City of San Rafael, and specific information about rates, locations, and various programs.
• Operates all parking equipment and collects parking fees and provides change to customers.
• Direct, instruct and assist customers with all parking equipment and parking needs, including, but not limited to, meters, change machines, multi-space equipment and pay-on-foot stations.
• Maintains records of transactions and parking activities.
• Prepares cash deposits and delivers to designated drop areas.
• Provides forms, receipts, monies and related information to the City.
• Regularly inspects elevators and all parking equipment, fixes and/or reports to supervisors any damaged or malfunctioning equipment as appropriate.
• Regularly inspects, cleans and/or reports vandalism in all parking areas, including on street, facilities, and equipment.
• Cleans and maintains parking areas.  Work includes, but is not limited to, washrooms, elevators, stairwells, booths, parking equipment, signs, parking spaces, driving lanes, and public right of way surrounding parking areas.
• Shall be granted authority to make operational decisions based on guidelines and the availability of supervision for non-routine circumstances.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance and repair based on guidelines and the availability of supervision for non-routine circumstances.
• Shall have and be responsible for equipment keys (when applicable), validation and various ticket functions.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

The City of Foster City is looking for an experienced Associate Engineer with a passion for public service. This position will provide exposure to large-scale projects and community engagement and performs engineering work on the following types of capital improvement projects:  buildings, parks, levee, storm water systems, lagoon, streets, traffic signals, water distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a directly related field, and three (3) years of professional experience in civil engineering work including project design, plan checking, and project management.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver’s license upon appointment.
• Possession of a valid Certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer in the State of California, desirable.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications and supplemental questionnaires received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently recruiting for two full-time Animal Care Services Officer. Under close supervision, incumbents enforces State and County laws regarding stray, dangerous, rabid, nuisance and unwanted domestic animals; investigates complaints; patrols assigned areas; captures animals; removes dead animals from public and private properties; assist in feeding and cleaning animal enclosures; assist with euthanizations and disposal of animals in a humane and prescribed method and performs other duties related to humane animal protection and control; performs related work as assigned including assisting the public with drop off, pick up and adoption of animals as necessary.  This is a working level class in animal control, responsible for enforcing applicable regulations in a limited public officer capacity. Animal Care Services is a division of the Sheriff's Department.  Animal Care Services provides services for the unincorporated areas of Yuba County and is located in Olivehurst, California.  Animal Care Services care for lost animals, injured and abandon animals, and a provide variety of services that protect both citizens and animals. Most importantly, they keep lost pets safe and happy so they can be reunited with their owner or adopted into a new family.

San Mateo County Health's Correctional Health Services is seeking qualified and experienced Correctional Health Nurses to perform varied professional nursing duties with primary emphasis on professional nursing care for inmates within a locked correctional facility; treat and educate patients about various medical conditions; record medical histories and symptoms; perform diagnostic tests and analyze results; operate medical machinery; administer treatment and medications to over 100 patients in an 8-hour shift; assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation; and perform other duties as assigned and required. Correctional facilities include the Maguire and Maple Street Correctional Centers (Redwood City) and Youth Services Center (San Mateo).

Under general direction, Correctional Health Nurses are fully competent to independently perform a full range of professional nursing duties and procedures requiring one to exercise a high degree clinical judgment. Incumbents also provide lead direction to other nursing and paraprofessional personnel.

 

Correctional Health Services provides integrated medical, dental, mental health, and chemical dependency treatment to the incarcerated adult population, as well as medical and dental care to the juvenile hall population of San Mateo County, as described below:

• Medical services include health screening, treatment, education, and 24-hour emergency response for adults.
• Clinic appointments are available by referral and upon request and include chronic care for hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and HIV, as well as obstetric, orthopedic, and urgent care.
• Dental services include treatment and medication for urgent dental conditions and extractions for adults and juveniles.
• Mental health services include crisis intervention, evaluation, treatment, psychiatric medication, behavior management, and continuing care referrals.
• Day treatment services are provided to mentally ill men and women in the Life Skills Program at the Maguire and Maple Street Correctional Centers.
• CHS also provides weekly group therapy; cognitive behavioral approach to addiction and recovery; and re-entry services for those transitioning back into the community.

 

The ideal candidates:

Will be well-rounded and will have knowledge of Correctional Health and Mental Health nursing; Emergency Room or ICU experience; or a strong Medical/Surgical and Telemetry foundation. OB/GYN, pediatric experience and psychiatric care experience are also ideal, but not required. Candidates must be able to administer medications to over 100 patients within an 8- hour shift, in a locked correctional facility and on weekends.

 

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Administer treatment and medications to over 100 patients within an 8-hour shift.
• Complete patient assessments and triage, as well as record patient histories, symptoms, and observations.
• Establish and implement nursing care plans for each patient through assessment, development, activation, and evaluation.
• Participate in patient case conferences and rounds.
• Organize, assign, and supervise duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader.
• Orient and teach new staff members of the nursing team and students.
• Perform nursing care following prescribed rules, policies, protocol, and procedures.
• Identify problems, assist in data gathering, propose solutions and participate in evaluation of quality assurance issues.
• Work with patients and their families to provide in-hospital and after-hospital follow-up through teaching and referral.
• Work with patients and their families to provide in-custody and after custody follow-up through teaching and referral.
• Participate in educational programs to maintain level of expertise.
• Participate in non-clinical assignments, which may include maintaining records, preparing reports, and/or serving on special committees.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
• Operate a variety of medical machinery and equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of outpatient resources.
• Develop discharge plans for patients.
• Perform related duties as assigned and as required by assigned work setting, as described below.

 

Duties for nurses in this series may also include the following:

• Perform professional nursing duties within a locked correctional facility.
• Check vital signs; give injections; perform catheterizations, IZ Registry, Point of Care Testing; and draw blood for medical purposes.
• Start, maintain, and discontinue intravenous lines.
• Monitor patient rehabilitation.
• Perform mental status exams and implement plan of care based on assessment findings.
• Monitor and document on patients in restraint and seclusion while maintaining patient safety.
• Determine medical or psychiatric emergency need and provide intervention.
• Recognize symptoms of major psychiatric diagnosis.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:

Possession of a California license as a Registered Nurse or equivalent and a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

THE POSITION:

The Facilities Carpenter I is an entry level classification in the carpentry series. Carpenters in this class are assigned routine skilled carpentry tasks. Under the training concept of growing excellence in craft, positions allocated to the Facilities Carpenter II level which become vacant may reasonably be filled at the I level. 
 

The Facilities Carpenter II is responsible for performing a variety of skilled carpentry and related tasks in the construction, remodeling, repair, and maintenance of City facilities. This the journey level classification within the carpenter series. Incumbents at this level act with independence, handle "master" craftworker projects, and assume the more complex activities which would otherwise require the attention and coordination of the Facilities and Building Manager. 

 

 

Essential Duties

What you will do: 

Depending on assignment, duties may include but are not limited to the following:  
 

1. Remodels offices in City facilities. Takes down walls, doors and windows, reinstalls new walls and cuts in new doorways.

2. Installs, repairs and replaces doors, door closures, windows, floors, roofs, and other structural appurtenances.

3. Builds and repairs wooden fixtures and office furniture of all kinds.

4. Fabricates new cabinets, bookshelves and countertops.

5. Performs maintenance and repair work on all city buildings, rental units, and on private residences involving Police damage to the premises.

6. Rescreens screen doors and window screens.

7. Fabricates tack boards and bulletin boards.

8. May perform allied craft work in the course of maintaining City facilities.

THE POSITION

 

The City of Hayward has an opportunity for a Chemist in the Water Pollution Control Facility Division of the Public Works and Utilities Department. Under direction or general supervision, learns and performs a variety of routine to complex chemical, physical, biological, and microbiological analyses, including instrumentation, involved in the testing of the City’s wastewater, drinking water, and recycled water quality; performs a variety of technical tasks relative to conducting and interpreting standard and complex laboratory analyses; collects samples; sets up testing procedures, records data, and analyzes results; assists with field and laboratory investigations to determine and mitigate wastewater and water problems; and performs related duties, as required.

 

Essential Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Interpret, analyze, and evaluate results of analytical samples related to treatment, quality control of domestic and industrial wastewater, effluent and receiving waters as related to the collection treatment and disposal of various types of wastes.

Supervise the laboratory in the collection of samples and in the performance of laboratory analysis.

Maintain a Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program and maintain the Chemical Hygiene Plan. 

Maintain and repair laboratory equipment.

Maintain and update the Standard Laboratory Operations Procedures Manual.

Provide assistance and input for a variety of personnel actions including selections, promotions, performance evaluations and disciplinary action.

Provide technical assistance on sampling programs and analytical techniques; instructs laboratory staff in performing analyses; trains laboratory and other staff in sample collection.

Ensure the accuracy and quality of all data reported by the laboratory.

Perform related work as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

JOB RELATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Standard Methods for the examination of water and wastewater.

Wastewater treatment principles and the chemical and bacteriological characteristics of wastewater and industrial waste.

General chemical quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Modern laboratory equipment and its uses.

Information sources related to wastewater and industrial waste analysis.

Sampling techniques and statistical analysis including the theory of probability.

Federal and State pertaining to laboratory operations.

Ability to:

Analyze and interpret the results of laboratory tests of wastewater and industrial waste.

Make sound decisions regarding the proper operation of the laboratory.

Effectively train, supervise and coordinate the work of other lab personnel.

Use modern office equipment and specialized software applications and programs to maintain lab records.

Differentiate visually among colors, tones, shades and hues.

Perform careful and accurate laboratory analyses as well as evaluate and interpret analytical results and make sound judgments.

Organize and manage projects, keep accurate records and prepare clear, accurate and concise reports of work performed.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and ability would be qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in the analysis of water, wastewater, solid waste, hazardous waste or other environmental samples.

Education: Equivalent to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, environmental, sanitary or public health engineering or a similar science.  Education must have included courses in quantitative and qualitative analysis.  A Master’s degree may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience.

Licenses & Certificates: Possession and Maintenance of a Class C California Driver's License.

The City of San José is recruiting for an Infrastructure and Operations Support Manager, Emergency Operations Center in the Information Technology Department. As a technical manager, this position will be responsible for overseeing infrastructure service and day-to-day operations for the City's Emergency Operation Center (EOC).

The Infrastructure and Operations Support Manager, Emergency Operations Center supports the essential technologies needed to operate the City's EOC in disasters, including the core network infrastructure, computing servers, storage, enterprise applications, collaboration tools, Mobile Device Management (MDM), and Motorola Computer Dispatch workstations. The EOC technologies include a multi-layer redundant/backup network connectivity with a localized data center, servers, and storage. This allows the EOC's technology services available during large-scale emergency events.

This position requires strong technical hands-on experience and leadership skills as well as the ability to take initiative and direct others. We are seeking an individual with a willingness to adapt to an ever-changing business as well as an ever-changing technical environment.

The ideal candidate must be able to take full ownership of managing and delegating the services of IT infrastructure, business collaboration tools, and City applications to support the EOC and lead projects to completion. Infrastructure operations include identity management, private and public cloud infrastructure, server virtualization, system management, and monitoring, client and server Windows Operating Systems and client applications, etc. Business collaboration tools include Microsoft Office 365 Productivity Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, related Office 365 Suite offerings, Zoom, etc. City applications include GIS, desktop applications, etc. This position demands a proven ability to resolve complex technical issues with limited resources. The Infrastructure and Operations Support Manager for the Emergency Operations Center is a member of the IT Department with a mission to support the EOC. The work plan defines the business requirements with priorities set by the Office of Emergency Management. As a member of the EOC response team, the Infrastructure and Operations Support Manager, Emergency Operations Center will need to be available onsite to support the emergency event. Work hours during an emergency event could be after the City's business hours or on the weekend.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Providing technical leadership for the City's enterprise infrastructure which includes: network, servers, hyperconverged infrastructure, desktops and mobile devices, Active Directory, VPN, Federation Service, Public/Private Cloud support, enterprise storage, system management and monitoring, enterprise system backups and restore, as well as Disaster Recovery of EOC IT services.
• Leading advanced troubleshooting and triage responsibilities for infrastructure issues to ensure service availability to meet service level expectations.
• Validating and managing system configuration changes to ensure successful system upgrades and configuration changes to the production environment.
• Developing technical guidelines and governance framework to ensure best practices and security.
• Triaging, leading, and resolving advanced infrastructure issues and service outages.
• Leading project implementation to completion.
• Coordinating communication and IT service needs with Public Safety and departments.
• Managing asset life cycle, including tracking, replacement, and surplus of equipment.

Salary Information: The final candidate's qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst (ESTA) classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.
