Performs a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of Town water, sewer, street and storm drainage facilities and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
•    Perform required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including pavement cutting, ditch digging, manhole and line cleaning, main and pipe repair, laying and backfilling.
•    Perform routine cleaning, inspection and preventive maintenance of equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
•    Performs all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
•    Maintains Corporation Yard and other Town facilities.
•    Responds to residents' requests for service.
•    Maintains a variety of records relating to maintenance activity.
•    Assists in determining the locations of water, storm drain and sewer lines from the appropriate sources prior to excavation.
•    Drives trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling, and unloading of equipment and supplies.
•    Work in adverse weather conditions.

Possible 40 or more hours per week (Subject to change) up to total 960 hours of temporary employment.

Under general supervision, the Lifeguard provides a safe environment for all types of aquatic programs.  The Lifeguard prevents loss of life or injury to patrons and at times performs related maintenance duties.  Some evening and weekend hours are required.  Mandatory pre-season in-service training sessions will be held in June. 

Enforces pool rules and regulations; rescues persons in distress and renders First Aid /CPR when necessary; maintains pool records and reports, including program registration and safety reports; follows City policies and procedures; and performs other assigned duties, as required.
 

Age Requirement:      

• At least 15 years of age.

Experience:                

• Recommended exposure to: swimming lessons instruction or working with young people in an organized environment, and/or participation in the Junior Lifeguard program, or experience as an Instructor’s Aide, or Lifeguard.

Knowledge of:           

• Lifeguard rescue and life-saving techniques.
• American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program and basic pool policies and procedures. Or equivalent

Ability to:                   

• Demonstrate all Lifeguard Training skills.
• Proficiently swim and demonstrate swimming skills
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
• Work with other people contacted in the course of employment

Education & Certifications:        

• American Red Cross Lifeguard Training with CPR and First Aid (or equivalent)
• Ability to obtain training in First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22 equivalent)

SALARY

$18.00 – $19.00 per hour - Scale based on experience and years of service.

Payday is the bi-weekly.  With the exception of Worker’s Compensation Coverage, no other benefits are provided.  Employees must contribute 1.45% of salary to Medicare and 7.75% to a retirement plan in accordance with Federal Law.

All positions are temporary part-time, hours required are 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM daily.  The preferred need is for Monday to Thursday.

Position Details:

Under general supervision, this position is assigned to perform a variety of duties to support the users of various indoor and outdoor City facilities and programs. The Recreation Specialist will oversee programs and rental activities. This includes opening and closing buildings, managing swimming pool patrons and activities, monitoring facility use including facility and guest safety during rentals, setting up tables and chairs for rentals, City programs and events, performing light janitorial and custodial duties, ensuring compliance of established rules and procedures for the use of facilities, and performing other duties as required.

• Assist in the inventory of facility supplies and equipment.

Working Conditions:

Work is assigned at both indoor and outdoor facilities, and may include exposure to unsanitary conditions, odors, cleaning chemicals, and some noise. The successful candidate must be able to work variable hours, including mornings, late evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Physical Demands

Light to moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds); pushing; pulling; crawling; climbing; and prolonged periods of standing. Lifting above the shoulders, working off a ladder, manual dexterity, and good vision and hearing are also required.

Supplemental Position Information:

Part-time temporary employees serve in an at-will capacity and understand that service with the City may be dismissed at any time. This position does not provide any benefits, apart from paid sick leave. In accordance with the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014, all temporary, part-time, and seasonal employees, who on or after July 1, 2015, work in California for 30 or more days within a year from the commencement of employment are entitled to paid sick leave for prescribed purposes.  Employees will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked and are entitled to use accrued sick days beginning on the 90th day of employment. THE POSITION
The Manager, Quantitative Analysis and Modeling is responsible for organizing, assigning, reviewing and participating in professional duties related to analysis and modeling, structured product development, portfolio risk management, and integrated resource planning. Duties include:

• Planning, prioritizing, reviewing and participating in the performance of professional analysis and modeling of risk and value around complex transactions and portfolio positions, including structured products, rate analysis and development, and hedging strategies.
• Developing methods and schedules to accomplish assignments, ensuring work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Developing pricing and calibration models for a variety of products.
• Solving challenging quantitative problems related to setting rates and valuations for structured products.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates will have an ability to perform complex analytical work in support of Pioneer’s product structuring, resource planning activities and rate setting and apply analytical and research methods to a variety of electric utility program areas including planning, forecasting, load research, utility demand, and demand-side management.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or Economics.
Experience: Five to ten (plus) years of experience in a position with similar duties including programming expertise (e.g., C++, Python, R, Matlab).

The City of San Mateo Public Works Department is looking for a Maintenance Worker I-II

Why Join Our Department?

The Public Works Department is comprised of the Engineering and Facilities Services Division (EFSD) and the Environmental Services Division (ESD). Each division is led by a Deputy Director reporting to the Director of Public Works. The department is responsible for the City’s major capital projects and infrastructure including streets, street lights, traffic signals, sewer and storm conveyance systems, wastewater treatment plant, pump stations, a major lagoon, and dams and levees. A key player on this team is the Maintenance Worker. You would be joining over 500 people whose mission is to serve the San Mateo community with a collaborative, innovative and professional spirit.

What You'll Do

The Maintenance Worker position may be filled at either the I or II level based on experience. The Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, signs, sewers, storm drains, pump stations, traffic signal and street light equipment, traffic systems, or municipal buildings; and to do related work as required. Some of the duties of this position are as follows:

• Operate construction and maintenance equipment such as backhoes, motorgraders, boom trucks, tractors, vac-all and small sweepers, and skip loaders for a variety of construction and maintenance operations involving streets, sidewalks and gutters, sewer lines, and drainage channels.
• Use concrete cutting and braking equipment; operate a jackhammer; pour and finish concrete; construct concrete forms and perform rough carpentry work.
• Operate maintenance equipment and tools such as trucks, power tools, sewer rodder, hydraulic jet cleaner, vac-all, front loader, backhoe, compressor, sandblaster, power wench, boom truck, cc TV unit, main and auxiliary pumps, pneumatic and electro-mechanical controls, diesel power plants, and related equipment and tools.
• Assist pump mechanics to install, repair and modify pump station machinery and control.
• Paint traffic markings on streets, crosswalks, parking lots, and curbs; operate a striping truck.
• Assist in performing a variety of routine electrical maintenance and repair tasks.
• Assist in trash and debris control activities such as picking up of litter and other street maintenance activities as required or when weather does not permit sweeping operations.
• Fully utilize the computerized work systems in accordance with work flow processes.
• Work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers.

Marina Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center, and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: Marina Attendants provide assistance and information to marina customers, in person and by telephone; perform marina related inspections and boat checks including seaworthiness boat checks and improvement verifications; perform boat measurement and appearance inspections; monitor dock conditions, check seawall and other dock infrastructure, and clear debris from Suisun City waters; perform impound and auction related activities; interpret, apply and explain policies, regulations, codes and procedures relating to slips, moorings and dock structures; assign space for visiting vessels, calculate and collect fees; maintain inventory and operate marina equipment. • Performs the handling and/or application of hazardous materials, fertilizers, herbicides, and other chemicals in accordance with applicable regulations and instructions.

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

Experience:   One year full-time in semiskilled construction maintenance or landscape maintenance work.

License:  Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

Physical Requirements:

Vision, hearing, and physical ability adequate to obtain and maintain a California Class B Driver’s License; speak clearly and understandably.  Requires moderate and sometimes strenuous exertion including bending, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, lifting, twisting, digging, carrying and/or handling material weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.  Work in confined spaces and wear protective equipment.  May work in conditions that require exposure to noise, odors, chemical and biological agents, gases, and contact with sanitary wastewater; work at heights up to 20 feet; work in varying temperatures of cold and heat, and inclement weather for extended periods of time; work in conditions that may contain dust, mold and various chemicals.

Special Requirements:

The Assistant Director, Operational Accounting will report directly to the Section Director, Financial Reporting and Operational Accounting, and will have management and oversight of operational areas of accounting including indirect cost allocation plan, single audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. The Assistant Director will prepare reports pertaining to operational accounting and will be a major contributor and advocate for operational accounting in the agency-wide ERP project.  The Assistant Director will provide oversight in the development and/or review of policies and procedures in operational accounting.

In coordination with internal stakeholders, this position will assist in development and/or review of policies and procedures and developing and evaluating the internal controls in AP, AR, and payroll.

This position will perform a variety of complex analytical, compliance, and administrative work in support of reporting functions; management of the operational accounting team and overall relationship with agency sections and program staff; coordinate with various outside agencies; analyze financial information and data; and communicate important financial information clearly to all entities. The Assistant Director will perform other job-related duties as needed or assigned by the section.

Education: A Master's degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration, or a related field, including a minimum of 24 semester-hours in accounting.  Applicants with a degree issued from an institution outside the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by an academic accrediting service and provide proof of equivalency along with their application.    

Experience: Five years of increasingly complex and diverse professional accounting work experience, two years of which having full supervisory responsibility for two or more major accounting functions, including the equivalent of two years as an Accounting Supervisor or Senior Financial Analyst for MTC.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years relevant experience preferred
• Participation in ERP System upgrades
• Experience in the assessment of internal controls pertaining to areas in operational accounting (AP, AR, Payroll)
• Experience with Indirect Cost Allocations Plans (ICAP/overhead plan)
• CPA or other related professional license preferred.

License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and a safe driving record, or the ability to provide alternate transportation which is approved by the appointing authority.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:    

• Provide leadership and manage the day-to-day operations in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
• Work with Section Director in onboarding the Indirect Cost Allocation Plan (“ICAP”/Overhead) consultant; manage the annual preparation of the overhead plans.
• Manage internal accounting controls for Operational Accounting including billing and accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and other specialized areas i.e., managing the overhead program.
• Oversee all month-end, quarterly, and annual G/L journal entries essential in operational accounting. 
• Recommend changes in policy and procedures to ensure financial records and audit processes are compliant with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Plan, organize, and perform assessments to ensure administrative accounting, and internal controls exist and are properly functioning in operational accounting.
• Assist in the management and production of Single Audit Reports and other external financial and governmental/grant audits including participation in the Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports.
• Work cooperatively and collaboratively with MTC staff and external stakeholders.
• Supervise staff. Hire, mentor, and proactively carry out performance management issues of direct and indirect reports including establishing job expectations, performing probationary and annual performance appraisals, and managing performance and disciplinary issues. Ensure EEO policies and procedures are followed. Coordinate staff training and professional development.
• Supervise staff, prepare performance appraisals for staff, and provide on-the-job training.
• Perform other job-related tasks and duties as needed or assigned by the section.

Program hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from approximately 2:30 pm – 5:15 pm; additional evening and weekend hours as needed.

Level II - $16.97/hour     -   Level III - $18.04 – $21.24/hour

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting for part-time Recreation Leaders II/III assigned to the Adaptive Program. The main goal of the City of Gilroy’s Recreation Division is to offer excellent recreation programs that provide community members with a wide range of opportunities to celebrate life and community through people, parks, programs, and special events which are delivered by a team of employees dedicated to offering quality recreational, social, and cultural services to all Gilroy residents. 
 
Under direct supervision of a Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Leader II/III will assist, plan, organize, and lead the physical, recreational, and social activities of assigned recreation programs. Program area focus is Adaptive (Special Needs), but you might be asked to support another recreation area.

 When assigned to the Adaptive Program, the leader will have an opportunity to have hands-on experience working with a special needs population.  Disabilities of participants vary in range from non-communicative to diminished motor skills to severe autism.  The position will report to an experienced staff member.  As related experience is gained as noted in the job qualifications and requirements, and with the recommendation in the employee’s performance evaluation, Recreation Leaders can advance from Recreation Leader II to Recreation Leader III.  As the employee advances through the job series the employee will take on more responsibility and more challenging work assignments.
