The City of Menlo Park is currently accepting applications for Menlo's Children's Center and Belle Haven Child Development Center. This position is part-time and provides a flexible work schedule. We are looking for multiple candidates that enjoy teaching & working with preschool and school aged children. This position is Monday through Friday.
The ideal candidate would possess a strong work-ethic and a desire to work with preschool and school-age children on class activities and projects; plans age-appropriate curriculum, learning experiences and activities to develop, physical, language, and social skills; designs activities to enhance the child’s self-esteem and independence.
Essential job Functions
The job functions of a Childcare Teacher 1 include: planning activities for children; supervising, instructing, and interacting with specific age groups; working within a teaching team to create a play based environment for children; maintaining safety and cleanliness throughout the facility. Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects, including children, up to 30 pounds.
- Must possess a minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education Units
- One year or more experience working in a preschool environment is preferred.
- Must successfully pass TB Test, physical and fingerprinting
These are non-benefited temporary positions. A temporary employee may not work more than 1000 hours per year and will receive sick leave in accordance with State Law.
