Under direct supervision, a Library Page is to sort, shelve, straighten, and relocate library materials on the shelves; pull library materials off shelves, and prepare the library for opening/closing procedures.  The ability to quickly and accurately sort items alphabetically and numerically.  This is an ideal job for someone who has good organizational skills, and able to work with others. A library page also provides basic directional information to library users.


Standing in and walking between work areas is frequently required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard. Positions in this classification frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach to perform assigned duties, as well as push and pull carts. Employees must possess the ability to lift and carry materials and objects up to 25 pounds and push and pull materials and objects up to 75 pounds with the use of proper equipment.

Completion of the tenth grade in high school


Hours vary- up to 18hrs/week

Must be willing to work nights and weekends

Age: Minimum age of 16

These are non-benefited temporary positions. A temporary employee may not work more than 1000 hours per year and will receive sick leave in accordance with State Law.
