The City of Menlo Park is hiring part-time Gymnastics Recreation Specialists to assist with the Library and Community Services Department gymnastics program.

We are looking for enthusiastic, driven, and responsible leaders who enjoy working with youth of all ages and creating a fun, safe, positive and thriving environment.

Shifts vary between 8:30AM – 8:30PM.

Ideal Candidate

Must be at least 16 years of age. (Applicants under the age of 18 years are required to obtain a work permit from their school.)

Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic

Experience working with and/or leading groups of children or teens in organized physical activities

Experience with organized gymnastics programs is preferred

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

Two years of paid experience working in a recreation program-type setting is preferred

Appointment to this position is contingent upon Department of Justice fingerprinting criminal history records check (18 and over) or work permit (if under age 18).

 

Staff provide high-quality, hands-on support and instruction for the City’s celebrated gymnastics program by assisting with age-appropriate gymnastics classes for children from early childhood through the teen years; providing instructional support; ensuring safety for all participants and staff; creating a positive learning environment; and performing related work as needed and assigned.

Benefits

These are non-benefited temporary positions. A temporary employee may not work more than 1000 hours per year and will receive sick leave in accordance with State Law.
