The City of Milpitas Recreation Services division seeks an enthusiastic individual for temporary Recreation Instructors to increase our pool of enthusiastic instructors and substitutes to cover last minute emergencies and vacations. Actual work schedule and classes taught to be determined through mutual agreement with supervisor. Employees may be required to work nights and weekends. Actual work schedule to be determined through agreement with supervisor.
What You Will Do
Under direct supervision of the Sports Center Coordinator, is responsible for group instruction of various fitness classes, including Step Aerobics, Kick Boxing, Body Toning, Interval Aerobics, Pilates, strength training, physio ball, water aerobics, Yoga, Zumba and other classes; interact professionally and communicate effectively with participants and general public; adhere to class structural guidelines and time schedules; maintain patron safety in and around dance studios.
Experience and Education
Minimum age at time of hire is 18 years old.
Professional certification(s) and experience.
License and Other Requirements
Upon selection, additional requirements include:
· Valid California Driver’s license.
· Must be certified by a nationally recognized certification organization such as A.C.E., A.F.A.A., or A.C.S.M.
· Fingerprint clearance (Department of Justice background check) if 18 years or older.
