The City of Milpitas' Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking a Student Internship for the Senior Center Division.
The Recreation (Senior Services) Intern will gain experience in many different areas of Senior Center programming to allow for the most valuable overall work experience possible. Intern will assist Senior Center staff with various programs, projects, and special events. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with program development and implementation, budget management, registration processes, and customer service.
Desired start date: June 2018
Expected end date: August 2018
Desired start and end date is negotiable. Typical Senior Center schedule is Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
This position is open to current college students who have advanced coursework in Recreation and Leisure Services, Health Sciences/Gerontology, or a related field.
This internship opportunity is unpaid. Primary work schedule will be during traditional business hours and will be determined based on student availability and internship requirements.
Internship position requires exceptional customer service skills, computer proficiency, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage time and workload efficiently.
