Step 1 - On-line Application: Interested candidates must submit an on-line application to the Human Resources department no later than the EXTENDED deadline March 21, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. Candidates must submit proof of current enrollment in at least two (2) college courses. Candidates can upload coursework to their application or e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, att: Police Cadet Recruitment. Attachments must be received by the filing deadline.
Step 2 - Written Examination: Qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written examination. The written examination will be tentatively scheduled in April 2018.
Step 3 - Oral Board Interview: Candidates successful in the written examination will be invited to participate in an Oral Board Interview. The oral board interview will be tentatively scheduled in April 2018.
Step 4 - Eligibility List and Background check, including drug screening: All candidates successful in the written examination and oral board interview will be placed on the Police Cadet eligility list good for one (1) year. This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies within the Police Department as they occur.
NOTE: Offers of employment are contingent upon passing a background check including drug screening, pre-employment physical examination and fingerprinting.
