THE SELECTION PROCESS

Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of the City’s official application form, but should accompany the application. All applications and resumes are reviewed to select those applicants whose qualifications appear to most closely match the requirements of the position. A limited number of qualified applicants may be invited to participate in the subsequent phase(s) of the recruitment process, which may include one or more of the following: written examination, skills test, assessment exercises, oral interviews, and complete background checks. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee advancement in the selection process.

An oral board examination is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 2022

A Departmental interview is scheduled for Friday, August 19,  2022

Prior to providing a Conditional Offer of Employment, the City will conduct a reference check including but not limited to the verification of employment history and education.  

After a Conditional Offer of employment is made, applicants will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening. Additionally, all Conditional Offers of Employment will be made contingent upon successful completion of Live scan Fingerprinting. The resulting report of conviction history (if any) will be used to determine whether the nature of the conviction (or arrest, in limited circumstances) will disqualify you as a candidate based on the specific requirements of the position to which you are applying.
