POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Transfer request forms for the following position are now being accepted for a part time position in the San Carlos School District for the 2017-2018 school year.

    

AVAILABLE:           After School Program Lead- .65FTE

LOCATION:            Arundel Elementary

                                               

WORK YEAR:             2017-2018 School Year, 202 days per year (including 13 holidays)

 M,T,F: 1:00pm- 6:00pm= 5hrs/day

 W: 12:00pm- 6:00pm w/30 min lunch= 5.5hrs/day

 TH: 1:00pm- 7:00pm w/30 min lunch= 5.5hrs/day

 = 26hrs/week

 

START DATE:                      ASAP

 

SALARY:                      Range $16.41- $18.32 per hour based on experience.
                                     Paid holidays, sick and vacation days.

                                    Substitute for staff absences, as needed.

SMART-T After School Program Lead

 

 

 

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the SMART-E Program Coordinator, the SMART-E After School Program Lead will support the program with tasks involved in running an active, fun, engaging before and after school program.  She/he will plan and lead engaging enrichment and recreation activities for groups of 20+ students.  The SMART-E Program Lead  will be responsible for maintaining relationships and communication with the children, SMART-e team members, parents, and school staff at each assigned school site.  As noon supervisor, she/he will ensure the safety and well being of students during lunch recess period.  Ideal candidates will have experience working with elementary school youth in a group environment.  She/he may have a sports and/or physical fitness background and be able to work effectively with students of differing ages.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure a safe, healthy, welcoming environment for students, parents, and staff
  • Plan and lead fun, engaging, hands-on after school curriculum
  • Lead and instruct students on safe and proper use of supplies and equipment, including safe playground behaviors
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized SMART-E classroom
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, school staff and team members
  • Work successfully in a team environment under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator
  • Interact professionally and appropriately with students, parents, teachers, and school staff
  • Perform daily duties as assigned by Program Coordinator or Assistant Program Coordinator
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of the Assistant Program Coordinator, if Program Coordinator is absent
  • Perform and be responsible for administrative duties (phone calls, rosters), as assigned
  • Support and implement student behavior management protocol
  • Supervise students during lunchtime and recess to ensure a safe and peaceful play environment
  • Proactively contribute to the overall growth and continued success of the SMART-E Program

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • Experience and desire to work with elementary school students
  • Ability to be a positive role model for children
  • Positive energy & works well in team environment
  • AA Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive self to work daily
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children in an education or information learning environment
  • Minimum 3 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units (may be in process)
  • CPR/First Aid certification required
