The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Technology Manager classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.
The City of San José, Information Technology Department is seeking an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & Business Applications Manager responsible for delivering technology supporting Human Resources, Enterprise Financials, Forecast & Budgeting, Revenue Management, Recruitment, Expense Management, and Payroll business functions.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical and system design skills and must be able to effectively turn complex business requirements into a product roadmap and deliver scalable and secure application solutions. The preferred candidate will have strong development and management skills with hands-on experience implementing ERP systems and be able to write code if necessary. Project management skills such as creating and managing project plans, resource allocation, and functional / technical design reviews is required.
Owns management of all aspects of system design and coding, including coordination and tracking of all development activities, status and issues.
Owns the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for ERP and Cloud applications by collaborating with product owners, stakeholders, and developers.
Recommends modernization and upgrades of existing business solutions and works closely with functional leads on process re-engineering efforts through presentations and demonstrations.
Establishes and institutionalizes formal development methodologies, processes, procedures and tools across projects. Ensures all development projects follow standardized procedures.
Creates/ reviews functional specifications with business users and recommends system designs that can be developed and deployed quickly. Reviews technical specifications with developers to ensure application design meets functional requirements and provides leadership to developers.
Collaborates on planning, forecasting and resource management for multiple concurrent projects. Manages vendor technology relationships where external services or package solutions are leveraged.
As a member of the team supporting mission critical applications, be available to respond to all system problems on a 24-hours per day 7-day per week basis
Ability to multi-tasking and work prioritization is a must for this candidate.

Defines and delivers solutions using PeopleSoft 9.2, Cayenta, Hyperion, and other peripheral applications as needed by business.
Responsible for on-time month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
Responsible for on-time and flawless execution of payroll processes on bi-weekly frequency.
Responsible for hub-and-spoke data warehouse model for enterprise data exchanges and reporting
Oversees governance and project management activities for the ERP and Business Applications space to ensure user adoption, while simultaneously providing standardization necessary for security, compliance and discoverability.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in computer science, information systems, business administration, or closely related field.
Experience: Seven (7) years of experience managing, maintaining and implementing significant technology programs, security design, application development and configurations and system/servicer administration, including a combination of five (5) years of supervisory and project management experience, of which at least two (2) years should be supervisory experience over a technical team.
Licenses or Certificates: Possession of a valid State of California driver’s license.
