Recreation Specialist II

Recreation Specialist II: $15.94-17.37 hourly

 

The City of San Mateo Parks & Recreation Department is looking for caring, enthusiastic,

creative and energetic individuals to join our preschool team!

About this role

Join our afterschool care team at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center.  We are seeking reliable, responsible, enthusiastic individual to provide leadership activities for up to 40 children, grades 1-5. Activities will include homework assistance, crafts, sports, nature, music, games, and special events.   This is a part time, non-benefited position, 15 to 20 hours per week in the afternoon hours and is limited to 960 hours in a fiscal year.

What You’ll Do

  • Encourage children to learn through play and Developmentally Appropriate Practices.

  • Plan, organize and lead indoor and outdoor games
  • Provide a variety of weekly activities for the program calendar.
  • Prepare snacks and offer homework assistance.
