Applications are being accepted for the position of Natural Resource Aide (Miscellaneous hourly) with the City of South San Francisco. This is a non-benefitted, temporary part-time position- approximately 2 year duration.

Through a grant funded by San Mateo County’s Measure K for the Sign Hill Habitat Restoration Project, this entry-level classification will perform maintenance and labor tasks in support of habitat management and restoration activities. Work may be performed independently or as a member of a crew. Depending upon assignment, work is performed under close to general supervision. Work is reviewed while in progress and by the results achieved. Incumbents may provide limited work direction to temporary or volunteer workers.
The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of basic techniques, tools, equipment and materials used in parks and grounds maintenance. Must be able to execute tasks with a high degree of efficiency and attention to detail; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; perform heavy physical and manual labor; and work scheduled hours including some evenings and weekends as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Experience: A minimum of six months of relevant experience is highly desirable.
Training: Equivalent to graduation from high school.
Licenses/Certificates: Possession of a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. (All licenses and certifications must be maintained as a condition of employment)
