Part-Time: Less Than 10 Hours Per Week
Salary Range: $14.77- $17.09 hourly
The City of St. Helena has an exciting opportunity to fill a part-time position in the Recreation Department. This is a great opportunity to become part of a team of dedicated individuals that take pride in serving the local community.
Distinguishing Characteristics: This position is responsible for refereeing various youth and/or adult sports. This position may work indoors or outdoors and may be subjected to varied weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, wind and humidity. Will work with small to large groups of people and the noise level can be moderate to very loud. Examples of Duties: (include but are not limited to the following)
¨ Officiate games to maintain standard of play.
¨ Ensure game rules are observed.
¨ Advise participants on game and facility procedures and policies, as appropriate.
¨ Ensures that safety and injury prevention policies are adhered to by participants.
¨ Report accidents and prepare accident reports as required.
¨ May be required to administer first aid to injuries suffered by participants and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as necessary.
¨ Set up equipment and ensure its return in serviceable condition.
¨ Perform other related duties as assigned.
¨ Must be 16+ with prior experience working or volunteering with youth.
¨ Experience in the relevant sport is required. Refereeing experience is preferred.
¨ Must pass a background check prior to start date.
¨ Must have the ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time. An employee will frequently be required to bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs, use hand and finger dexterity, use eye to hand coordination and lift. An employee will occasionally be required to balance, run, push, pull, and crawl.
