The Community Garden Farmer maintains and cares for all garden beds. They will teach and mentor Tri-City Garden (TCG) team and program participants in all levels of horticultural methods. The Community Garden Farmer will maintain accurate produce logs, conducts horticulture-related research to manage plants and pests control. They will collaborate closely with the TCG team and other Tri-City staff in developing group curriculum that integrates horticultural skills. The Community Garden Farmer participates in community events and presentations to promote the Therapeutic Community Gardening program.
Required: Must have knowledge to navigate websites online and be proficient with Microsoft Office. Must be able to work in a team environment, have thorough knowledge of plants and how to manage them and be able to lift up to 25 lbs., kneel and tolerate heat and/or cold.
Preferred: 1+ years experience with Horticultural; A Degree and/or Certificate in Horticultural or crop-related field. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
