Site Supervisor Qualifications:
The Site Supervisor will report to the Director, work in the classroom and supervises the Teachers and Aides.
This is a classroom position, not an administrative/office position.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Assume the full responsibility of the Director in the Directors absence.
- Site Supervisor will work in classroom for assigned shift and may be asked to substitute when needed.
- Support staff with discipline challenges and parent concerns.
- Site Supervisor must have the experience/ability to create an age appropriate curriculum. Curriculum should align with morning and or afternoon curriculum.
- Act as support for Director, keeping the Director informed of situations in all areas; i.e. via email, communication log, incident report or accident report.
- Act as an example to all staff.
- As site supervisor, help with the planning and purchasing of snack items.
- As site supervisor, help with inventory and purchasing of school supplies.
- As site supervisor, help with students files, portfolios, observations, assessments, and work to meet licensing standards.
- As site supervisor, help with administrative office duties.
- As site supervisor, help with schedules, gives tours, and assists with enrollment of new students.
- Interact with the parents/public in a positive and courteous manner, both on the phone and in person.
- Work with the director in completing yearly employee evaluations.
- Attend all after hour staff and parent meetings or special events.
- Work with the Director in short term and long term staffing assignments, scheduling substitutes when necessary.
- Keep bathrooms, storage rooms, kitchen, and classroom neat, clean, and orderly.
Ideal Candidate
BA in Early Childhood development preferred, but may qualify in one of the following ways:
- 24 ECE units covering Child Development: Child, Family, and Community, and Preschool Curriculum.
- Plus 3 units of Administration of Preschool
- Plus 4 years of teaching experience
- A.A. in Child Development or ECE
- Plus 3 units of Administration of Preschool
- Plus 2 years of teaching experience
- B.A. in Child Development or ECE
- Plus 3 units of Administration of Preschool
- Plus 1 years of teaching experience
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 3 hours per day for 100 days in a calendar year teaching in a licensed child care facility equals one year of experience.
- Experience begins only after completion of first 6 ECE units.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to attain CPR, First Aid & AED certifications prior to first day of program.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.
