Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is seeking to add a talented Business Diversity Program Manager to our team.
Under direction, the Business Diversity Program Manager plans, directs, manages, and administers VTA's business diversity programs, including the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE), Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE), and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Business Enterprise (LGBTBE) Programs.
The Business Diversity Program Manager is a single position class that manages the work of professional level analytical staff in addition to performing complex and responsible duties. This classification works with a high degree of independence and is expected to carry out the necessary day to day activities without direction, except as new or unusual circumstances require. The incumbent serves as a subject expert on DBE, SBE, MWBE, DVBE, LGBTBE, and related programs, providing direction, assistance, and input on program policies and procedures, and serves as VTA's liaison to a variety of individuals and organizations regarding the DBE, SBE, MWBE, DVBE, LGBTBE, and related programs.
Development of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in public or business administration, or a related field, and four years of increasingly responsible experience performing DBE-related work for a public or private sector organization, with at least two years at the level of Management Analyst or equivalent. Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity is desirable.
