To service and perform minor repairs and a variety of semi-skilled preventative maintenance duties on a variety of automotive and other power-driven and mechanical equipment.
The purpose of this recruitment is to hire a temporary/part-time position. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications for the Equipment Service Worker position may be considered for employment as an Intern. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
Temporary/Part-Time employees work no more than 130 hours per month and 960 hours per Fiscal Year.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Follow a preventative maintenance schedule to assure vehicles are in good repair. Perform minor tune-ups, exhaust system repairs, brake replacements and repairs, and U-joint replacements. Check and replace tires. Wash and steam clean vehicles and parts. Inspect vehicles and equipment for loose or work parts and hydraulic and exhaust leaks. Bring all needed repairs to the attention of Supervisor. Keep routine records on maintenance services provided, parts used, and labor performed. Pick up and deliver vehicles and parts. Maintain maintenance shop and shop equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition. Regular and consistent attendance.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform a wide variety of routine preventative maintenance duties on all automotive vehicles. Performs related duties as assigned.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One (1) year of basic vehicle maintenance experience.
Licenses: Required upon hire and maintained during employment, possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License.

Equipment Service Worker Salary: $17.43 - $22.24 per hour
Intern Salary: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour

With the exception of workers’ compensation coverage, no other benefit compensation is provided. Employees must contribute 1.45% of salary to Medicare and 7.5% of salary to a retirement plan in accordance with Federal Law.
