The City of Yuba City is now accepting applications for (2) Engineering Interns. This is a part-time, temporary position within the Public Works - Engineering Department. Under general supervision, an Engineering Intern provides assistance with field and office civil engineering work in the planning, professional design and construction of City facilities and infrastructure including: sewer, water, storm drains, street improvements and traffic signals. Interns have the opportunity to contribute to active projects and gain real world experience in a professional and friendly work environment
The ideal candidate must have a willingness to learn and work well in a team environment. This position requires the ability to communicate and manage time effectively while balancing a variety of tasks and priorities. Must have the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently.
Education: Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to ensure the ability to read and write at a level required for successful job performance. College level coursework in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
Experience: Experience in engineering or related field is desirable, but not required.
License/Certification: Valid California Class C driver’s license is required.
