The City of Monte Sereno is a General Law City and operates under the Council/Manager form of government. Five Council members are elected at large for four-year terms. Each year, the Council elects the Mayor and Vice-Mayor from within their ranks. The City Council appoints the City Manager. City staff from all departments work closely together to ensure ongoing quality of life within the community and to provide the best municipal services possible. The population of the City is 3,900 and is located in southwestern Santa Clara County, between Los Gatos and Saratoga. Monte Sereno is a beautiful residential community, known for its wooded hillsides and rural character, yet just minutes from the heart of Silicon Valley. City Hall is located along scenic Highway 9 with easy access to Highways 17 and 85.
