The City of Redwood City is currently accepting applications for entry level Police Officer candidates who are either currently attending, have recently been accepted to, or have successfully graduated from an accredited California P.O.S.T. Academy, and have less than one year of sworn law enforcement experience.    The Redwood City Police Department offers many opportunities for learning and long-term career growth in a city comprised of diverse residential and business communities. ABOUT THE POSITION

 

The City of Redwood City invites you to apply for the position of SECRETARY in the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (Recreation Division). The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of complex and secretarial duties in daily support of the Red Morton Community Center. This position has the responsibility for a wide range of administrative support functions as well as providing top-notch customer service to customers of all ages and backgrounds. Verbal bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are highly desirable.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Independently compose correspondence related to responsibilities assigned.
• Act as a receptionist and customer service specialist for general City services.
• Initiate and maintain a variety of files and records for information such as payroll, attendance, budget, payables, as well as taking activity registration.
• Recommend organization or procedural changes affecting the administrative team.
• Serve as back-up for other administrative staff as necessary.
• May serve as Secretary for a Board, Commission or Committee.
• Assist non-profit partners and organizations with clerical and financial duties.
• Provide guidance and connections for participants seeking recreation programs, sports leagues, non-profits, or community support.
• Supervise and train staff and volunteers.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

JOIN THE TEAM

Join our team of dedicated staff working in the special events division of Redwood City’s Parks, Recreation, & Community Services Department. Team members will assist in setting up, monitoring, and breaking down events all while providing excellent customer service.

 

ABOUT THE POSITION
Redwood City is known for delivering a large variety of high-quality special events year-round including concerts, festivals, cultural events, kids concerts, pop up recreational activities, and more. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: follow event plan and execute assigned duties effectively and efficiently; understand proper setup and breakdown procedures of special events equipment; maintain and care for equipment as necessary; monitor program areas for quality assurance; operate effectively as a member of a team; report to supervisors orally and in writing; complete assigned paperwork such as timecards and incident and/or accident reports.
Work schedules can vary during the year pending current event programming. Candidates can expect an average of 15-20 hours per week throughout the year.

The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department invites you to apply for the casual position of Human Services Assistant at the Fair Oaks Community Center (FOCC). FOCC is a multi-service agency that offers a variety of programs and services provided by City staff and non-profit and public agency partners. This position provides a variety of administrative and operational support functions while also providing customer service to customers of all ages and backgrounds. In particular, the Human Services Assistant will support the Information and Referral/Emergency Services Program that provides vital safety net, homelessness intervention, and homelessness prevention services to low-income families, single parents, seniors, disabled persons, persons experiencing homelessness, and individuals seeking assistance in meeting their basic needs and strengthening their economic self-sufficiency.

This is a non-benefited, casual (temporary) position, scheduled to work flexibly, 10-20 hours per week.

THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City is looking for a dynamic, energetic, team-oriented full-time (38-hours per week) Librarian, to coordinate the library’s outreach and deliver innovative programs and services for children and families throughout the community. The position is flexibly staffed at the Librarian I/II or Lead Librarian level, depending on the candidate’s experience. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

The current opening is based at the Downtown Library and will provide services and programs for youth at all three library locations and in the community. The position will require work during the day, evenings and weekends.
