Ron Robinson Senior Care Center (RRSCC) is seeking two full-time geriatricians to join our outpatient primary care clinic, located within San Mateo Medical Center in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our clinic is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of individuals aged 60 and above. Through a comprehensive interdisciplinary team approach, we empower older adults to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Our team of medical doctors and nurse practitioners is supported by a clinic-dedicated psychiatrist, psychologist, neuropsychologist, pharmacist, nutritionist, podiatrist, and social worker, in addition to our committed nursing and patient service staff. The Department: 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) constructs, maintains and improves various components of the City’s infrastructure and provides quality, cost-effective, timely services to the residents and businesses of Santa Clara. DPW is responsible for a wide variety of programs throughout the city which include implementation of solid waste and urban run-off pollution prevention programs, design, construction management, inspection and maintenance of City streets, bridges, storm drain systems, traffic signal systems, building facilities, fleet, street trees, landscaping and the closed landfill.

The Position: 

This is the second level paraprofessional position in the Staff Aide series requiring the frequent use of independent judgment and interpretive ability related to research, analysis, and report writing. An incumbent in this classification performs work of a varied and responsible nature under general direction with some responsibility for the follow-through on details of assigned projects. This classification is distinguished from a Staff Aide II in that the Staff Aide II – Environmental Programs is a public facing role with specific knowledge of solid waste, source reduction, recycling, and urban runoff pollution prevention.

What You’ll Do

• Process utility bills for residents and businesses in the City.
• Work with other departments and the City’s waste management service to accurately set up complex utility accounts and process utility bill adjustments.
• Interact with and assist customers to set up, adjust, and/or close their utility accounts and provide general customer service support.
• Reconcile revenue and financial accounting systems, interfacing transactional data between them.
• Create invoices for various departments to collect fees and other sources of revenue.
• Review, reconcile, and record daily revenue transactions.
• Assist with various month-end and year-end accounting tasks specific to the Revenue section.

The Essentials

• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible accounting clerical experience.

The Department:

DEFINITION
Under direction performs skilled work in several trades in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment on City owned buildings.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Positions in this class are assigned a variety of tasks in the building trades. Although the work requires the use of journey worker’s tools and the ability to perform operations in several of the crafts, the skills required in any one field is normally less that would be required of a journey worker in that field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Responsibilities including but not limited to)

• Painting (patch holes, drywall taping and finishing, caulking, interior painting and exterior painting)
• Electrical (replace light bulbs, ballast, switches and outlets)
• Plumbing (repair/replace mixing valves and stems, plunge toilets and use power augers)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:  Building trade methods, materials and equipment; safe work practices and estimate job material, duration and cost.

Ability to:  Work efficiently with others, log/record work completed, climb ladders, Use the required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; and work independently.

Skills:  Operate a variety of power tools such as paint sprayer, sanders and pressure washers, mixers, drills and grinders.

License:  Possession of a Class C driver’s license issued by the DMV.

Education and Experience:  Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to qualify is obtained from two years’ experience in general building maintenance work including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting. Typically, sufficient education is required to read and follow detailed instructions.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all those contacted in the course of work; to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; twist upper body and to sit and stand for moderate periods of time. The Department:

The Manager, Track & Structures reports to the Deputy Director of Infrastructure Engineering and is responsible for overseeing railroad track and structures engineering support for the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain)

Essential Functions & Duties:

Essential Functions:

• Acts as agency lead on matters related to track and structures.
• Oversee the track and structures engineering tasks for design/construction of Caltrain Capital and SOGR projects and provide technical support for planning on grade separation projects.
• Ensure the capital and maintenance projects comply with the contract agreement and implement the approved design for compliance with JPB standards and specifications. 
• Lead the advanced technical reviews of projects to assess constructability, examine design details, perform quantity audit, and recommend construction sequencing.
• Establish effective relationships and liaise with Caltrain operation contractors, consultants, internal departments, and other agencies (CPUC, FRA, UPRR, etc.) on railroad track and structures related to influence design and project development.
• Supervise staff.  Hire, mentor and take appropriate corrective and/or disciplinary action.  Ensure EEO policies and procedures are followed. Participate in selection of staff. Coordinate staff training and professional development. Establish performance objectives. Monitor and evaluate employee performance.

Examples of Essential Duties: 

• Plan, develop and implement the group’s work plan, budget, goals, and objectives to be consistent with the Engineering Department’s goals.
• Manage the design review of project documentation such as drawings, basis of design, specifications, technical reports, and calculations for compliance with Caltrain Standards and for cost effectiveness of the design. 
• Lead development of potential solutions to the design/construction team and presents for design optimization, risk management challenges, and constructability improvements.
• Assist with Maintenance Department to develop the annual and long-term railroad track engineering and maintenance plans, coordinate these plans with capital projects and support to implement the plans.
• Review and provide technical input for capital and maintenance projects for compliance and cost effectiveness of the design.
• Perform QA reviews of RFIs and submittals as well as participate in change order review and final inspections to construction. 
• Ensure track and structures comply with all return-to-service requirements following all construction activities.
• Review and evaluate project specific designs and provide technical recommendations to design variance approval process.
• Responsible for Caltrain Bridge Management Program.
• Responsible for updates to Caltrain Engineering Standards.
• Train, motivate and monitor staff activities, provide direction, and to identify and resolve the problems.

For the Senior Engineer, the salary range listed above reflects the full compensation potential for this position. Initial placement in the salary range is typically within the first half of the range; however, in certain circumstances (i.e. an experienced lateral candidate) placement at or above the midpoint may be considered. The last 3% of the salary range requires five years of City of Gilroy service and strong work performance – see MOU for specific requirements.

For Engineer II, additional steps (Step F, Step G, and Step H) included in the salary range listed above are available to employees in this job classification after completion of five years of service (Step F), ten years of service (Step G), and 15 years of service (Step H),  one year at the prior step, and a good performance evaluation.  Initial salary placement is typically at the entry point of the range unless the candidate has prior lateral work experience which may warrant initial placement at a higher step.

Opportunity to work a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off. This position is full-time, on-site, designed for direct collaboration with the team and active participation in daily operations.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a full-time Senior Civil Engineer or an Engineer II (dependent on qualifications) for the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. In this exciting opportunity the incumbent will play a pivotal role in shaping infrastructure and overseeing key projects vital to the growth and development of the City of Gilroy. This position offers a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic planning making it an ideal role an engineering professional looking to make tangible differences in the lives of the Gilroy residents.

 The Senior Civil Engineer will work under the direction of the City Engineer and/or the Public Works Director and is afforded the authority and discretion to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Section. This supervisory position will lead a team of engineers and technicians in the implementation of the City’s CIP, including the planning, design, construction, and inspection of a variety of projects.  Responsibilities include supervising employees, directing complex professional-level field and office engineering assignments, developing strategies and schedules for implementing the CIP, assisting with CIP budgeting, and playing a significant role in making a difference in the community! 

The Senior Civil Engineer classification is an exempt, mid-management level position. 

The Engineer II will play a critical role in designing, managing and delivering Capital Improvement projects that improve essential city infrastructure. From planning and budgeting to implementation, your work will positively affect thousands of residents daily, supporting the city’s mission to create a safe, connected, and vibrant community. Although this position is dedicated to CIP, in order to appropriately respond to community needs, the Engineer II may also provide support to the Land Development and Transportation engineering sections, so adaptability and flexibility are keys to success in this position. This position may also represent the City in community meetings and hearings, meetings with project stakeholders, and serve on regional committees as applicable.

The Engineer II is a journey-level position that will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer or City Engineer and will perform professional engineering work in the field and office. Assignments will involve investigating, developing, and constructing a wide variety of capital projects and preparing/reviewing engineering studies aimed at being transformative for the residents of Gilroy.  This position may also represent the City in community meetings and hearings, meetings with project stakeholders, and serve on regional committees as applicable.

THE TEAM AND DEPARTMENT
The Public Works Department is responsible for providing high quality, safe and effective maintenance, operation and construction of streets, parks, storm drainage and related infrastructure. The Department is under new leadership with a renewed focus on master infrastructure planning, proactive capital maintenance and replacement, traffic engineering and customer service. Pipeline public projects include completion of the Civic Center Master Plan, design and bid of the new Santa Teresa Fire Station, a $7 million pavement rehabilitation project, a $3 million San Ysidro Park remodel project, and completion of Traffic Impact Fee Study. The City is processing multiple large private projects including an almost one million square foot Amazon data center as well as multiple residential subdivisions and multi-family projects.
