The Principal Development Services Inspector classification is a single position classification allocated to the Development Services Division of the Department of Planning and Development.

The Principle Development Services Inspector is distinguished from the Senior Building Inspector and Supervising Construction Inspector in that the Principal Development Services Inspector is assigned continuing full supervisory responsibilities over the Senior Building Inspector and Supervising Construction Inspector, professional, technical and support staff; coordinates the activities of inspection operations across the Building, Land Development Engineering and Fire Marshal sections of the Development Services Division; whereas the Senior Building Inspector is responsible to supervise a phase of the inspection program and to perform the more difficult or more specialized inspections. The Supervising Construction Inspector is responsible for a major segment of a program area of construction projects and for supervising staff.

The City of Patterson is recruiting for a Firefighter Paramedic.  This safety position will respond to fire alarms, emergency medical calls, traffic accidents, rescue and other emergency calls to protect life and property.  This position will also participate in trainings, drills, study activities and in the maintenance of the department apparatus, equipment and facilities.  Under the supervision of the Fire Engineer or Fire Captain, performs advanced life support (ALS) care to patients of medical emergencies and other medical procedures. Performs other duties as required.

The PTCO position in the DOT Parking Compliance Unit is responsible for:

• Patrolling assigned areas within the City limits and responding to complaints for illegally parked motor vehicles for the purpose of enforcing motor vehicle, roadway, garage and surface lot parking laws and regulations.
• Supports school safety and vehicle abatement programs
• Provides tow support for construction or street maintenance projects. 
• Provides vehicular and pedestrian traffic control during construction projects and special events within the City.
• Provide education and information about parking laws and regulations
• Participates in community outreach activities.
• Patrol coverage areas without a partner by walking or driving
• Work alternate work shifts, including grave and swing, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting to fill the position of Senior Facilities Maintenance Specialist in the Administrative Services & Human Resources/Risk Management Department, Facilities Division.

In this exciting opportunity, the Senior Facilities Maintenance Specialist will work under direct supervision of the Facilities & Fleet Superintendent and will be responsible for maintaining and constructing all City buildings, structures, and park facilities. This role calls for a dynamic team player with outstanding communication and customer service skills, a positive attitude in the face of challenges, and a commitment to going the extra mile. It requires someone who can work independently, collaborate effectively as part of a team, and has experience supervising or coordinating work and overseeing the performance of others.

The Senior Facilities Maintenance Specialist is distinguished from the Facilities Maintenance Specialist in that the Senior Specialist is expected to perform the more challenging and complex tasks and is expected to perform certain administrative functions in support of the Facilities Division. This role offers a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on work. You'll have the opportunity to lead initiatives that impact the community directly, such as energy efficiency upgrades, safety improvements, and facility renovations. These tasks include a range of semi-skilled construction and repair work involving the use of basic tools and trade-related equipment. Duties may involve repairing electrical equipment and wiring systems; fixing windows, doors, cabinets, and other building components; maintaining interior and exterior furniture such as tables, chairs, benches, and bookcases; performing general plumbing repairs and installations; and carrying out basic concrete and masonry work. 

Additionally, you must be able to diagnose mechanical problems and methodically troubleshoot any issues occurring with building systems, machines, and equipment. This role also serves as a trainer and provides leadership to the team on specific tasks and projects.
