• Serve as a resource to colleagues by offering casework consultation within the department and to external partner agencies.

This classification is distinguished by its emphasis on independent clinical judgment, therapeutic engagement, and management of the most sensitive or high-risk cases, exceeding the expectations of the Social Worker II level.

 

About the Adult Protective Services (APS) Program

APS is a state-mandated program responsible for investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation involving older adults and dependent adults. Abuse may include physical, financial, emotional, sexual abuse, neglect, isolation, or abandonment.

APS Social Worker IIIs conduct face-to-face home visits, complete comprehensive psychosocial assessments, develop service plans, and coordinate interventions across multiple systems. Investigations may be conducted in collaboration with law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, health care providers, and community partners.

The program is built on a foundation of client rights, empowerment, and person-centered practice, aiming to strengthen safety, reduce risk, and support clients’ ability to remain in the community whenever appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

This Social Worker III will:

• Respond to allegations of abuse throughout San Mateo County and complete thorough assessments of client strengths, risks, and needs.
• Conduct face-to-face home visits, psychosocial evaluations, and develop individualized service plans in alignment with state mandates.
• Collaborate closely with law enforcement, hospitals, behavioral health, community agencies, and informal support networks.
• Attend required APS state training and participate in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to support coordinated care.
• Provide crisis intervention and implement a wide range of social work strategies aimed at mitigating risk.
• Assess need for services such as health care, in-home support, personal care, money management, substitute decision-making, or conservatorship.
• Prepare documentation and maintain accurate, timely case records across multiple information systems.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and contribute to ongoing program development.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Experience responding to allegations of abuse or providing crisis intervention.
• Ability to work independently and confidently in the field.

The Position

 
The San Bruno Police Department is recruiting for entry-level Public Safety Dispatchers.  Public Safety Dispatchers are responsible for public safety dispatch and related records management activities. This position operates on a 24-hour, 365 days per year basis, and may be assigned to either a day, swing, or graveyard shift on a regular, rotational basis that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.  Public Safety Dispatchers perform a wide range of duties involving radio, telephone, and computers, applying various procedures and codes. Dispatchers receive and transmit emergency and non-emergency telephone and radio traffic as well as process communication reports, records, and radio logs, while maintaining
a high level of confidentiality.  Dispatchers may also support the Police Department by performing clerical tasks, training, assisting with fingerprinting, and being accountable for financial transactions.  This position is integral in supporting the goals and objectives of the City and Police Department.

• Receives and transmits emergency
  and non-emergency
  telephone and radio traffic.  

• Maintains and processes a variety of communications reports, records and radio logs.

• Operates a dispatch console, uses Computer Aided Dispatch (C.A.D.) System and other computer programs to process information and records.

• Responsible for various Record Management System (RMS) entries, some of these include but are not limited to citations, warrants, subpoenas. 

• Responsible for accurate and timely entries into the California Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (CLETS), as well as, the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).

• Maintains a high level of confidentiality.

• Performs collateral duties including a variety of related clerical tasks:
  records entry, assisting in fingerprinting and jail operations, which may include searching prisoners; and is accountable for handling cash, bond, and check transactions.

Certificates and Licenses

• Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License, Class C with a good driving record.

• Typing certificate issued within the last year verifying minimum typing speed of thirty-five (35) net words per minute with a maximum of nine (9) errors. Typing certificate must be submitted with application to be considered.  Online typing certificate permitted with application; formal test will be administered to final candidate.

• Completion within the last year of the POST Entry Level Dispatcher Selection Test Battery with a preferred minimum

THE POSITION

• Perform technical level administrative duties in support of the City’s Below Market-Rate (BMR) Housing Program

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Deputy Director will oversee department-wide administrative operations and strategic initiatives including organizational planning, program performance, budget development, financial accounting, procurement, contracting, human resources, recruitment, and other administrative functions. This role will supervise three staff members in the Operations Division and closely collaborate with other staff to achieve the Commission’s strategic goals.

The Deputy Director must be willing to forego involvement in all local political activity while a member of the Commission staff and publicly file an annual Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Establish and implement departmental goals, policies, and strategic plans as directed by the Executive Director.

Desired Qualifications

• A Master's degree in public administration, business administration, public policy, or a closely related field of study, or a juris doctor degree.

• Experience in the fields of campaign finance and governmental ethics.

The San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division is seeking full-time seasonal extra-help Election Materials Proofreaders to assist in the upcoming June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election. This is an excellent nonpartisan opportunity to be involved in the election process! 

We are currently seeking dedicated and hard-working individuals for the position of Proofreader. Proofreaders will be hired into one of four language-based teams (English, Chinese, Filipino, or Spanish). 

This announcement is for English proofreaders. 

All Proofreaders will be responsible for proofreading and copyediting election materials leading up to established election deadlines. Proofreaders will review, edit, and proofread documents for accuracy, context, readability, and syntax.

Proofreaders will mostly work remotely using equipment provided by the Registration & Elections Division. Equipment must be picked up and returned to the Elections Office. Towards the end of the assignment, two days of on-site work will be required for final proofs of physical material.

Position Summary

Under general direction of the Director of Transportation for the Bus Transit division, contributes to the mission of Golden Gate Transit by ensuring that Golden Gate Transit has the best possible trained Bus Operators. Instruct Bus Operators for safe operations of vehicles, uniform compliance, and enforcement of District rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Document Bus Operator Students’ performance. Must be willing to work shift assignments from Santa Rosa, Novato, San Rafael, or San Francisco Division locations. May be assigned to perform other duties.
 

Essential Responsibilities

• Conducts training class for newly hired bus operators, including obstacle course, classroom and “over the road” instruction by delivering standardized curriculum.
• Develops classroom curriculum, including itinerary, lesson plans, training and testing materials and implement training for newly hired and existing bus operators.
• Acts as designated D.M.V. examiner in the testing and certification of bus operators; or coordinates with D.M.V. to get student operators V.T.T. cards and license conversations.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation on every facet of training and testing for each student as required and mandated by state and federal governments.
• Performs individual evaluations of student operators progress in the training program.
• Conducts ongoing Verification of Transit Training Classes for existing bus operators and other commercially licensed employees who need to maintain a V.T.T.
• Supervises Bus Operators fitness -for -duty as they report to work, including observing for divergencies from normal behavior patterns, uniform appearance, grooming and possessions of driving credentials and medical card.

• Works with the Director of Training and Safety on compliance with D.O.E., D.O.T., and D.M.V. training and documentation requirements
• Develops and implement minimum standards for bus operator trainees.
• Monitors progress of trainees and provide periodic counseling and progress evaluation.
• Conducts refresher training for bus operators returning to work after extended absence.
• Testifies on training or related fields at bus operator hearings, arbitrations, or trials.

• Re-trains bus operators as directed by disciplinary hearings on accidents or rule violations.
• Evaluates new equipment and changes in existing equipment and prepare data to be used as instruction criteria. (This material is distributed to bus operators when training on this equipment) outlines and checklists.

• Compiles and maintain "Training Subjects Manuals."
• Obtains and maintain appropriate certifications.
• Works with appropriate staff in the recruiting and selection process for bus operators.

• Represents GGT as necessary and assist in the structure and the presentation of the annual Regional Bus Roadeo.
• Instructs and monitor operation of G.F.I farebox and radio systems.
• Observes and monitor safe operation of vehicles by riding with operators, contact and correct operators on safety procedures.
• Issues infractions and/or discipline for violations of safety policy and procedures.
• Ensures employees under their supervision follow established safe work practices and obey all safety rules.
• Performs driver safety observations by riding on board buses or observing from a moving vehicle or fixed location and provide written reports on these observations; and issues discipline for safety violations observed.

The County Executive’s Office of the County of San Mateo is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Clerk of the Assessment Appeals Board/ Administrative Assistant I.  
   
The mission of the Assessment Appeals Board (AAB) is to conduct fair and impartial property assessment appeal hearings in a timely and efficient manner for the property taxpayers of San Mateo County. The board’s objective is to ensure applicants’ properties are assessed at fair market value, in accordance with applicable law, based on properties similar in size and utility. The AAB consists of three part-time commissioners and the clerk. The mission-critical clerk’s position is fast-paced and demanding, characterized by extensive use of the computer and telephone to provide administrative support for the AAB and their associated proceedings.
   
The AAB acts on behalf of the Board of Supervisors and is independent from the County Assessor’s Office.

Examples of Duties

Duties of the Clerk of the Assessment Appeals Board include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide public notice of Appeals Board meetings.
• Respond to taxpayer inquiries regarding their application and Board hearing procedures.
• Ensure that the applications meet the legal requirements for completeness and timeliness and are submitted on the proper form.
• Maintain correspondence with the State Board of Equalization.

This is a limited-term position. Limited-term positions are full-time, fully benefited, temporary positions.
