Prospective candidates will undergo and must successfully pass a thorough police background investigation which may include a psychological evaluation and polygraph examination. 
Under administrative direction of the Division Commander, plans, coordinates, directs, and supervises the work of the Police Records Unit activities and operations of the Police Department; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; serves as the Police Department’s Custodian of Records; and performs a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

The City of Oceanside is accepting applications for the position of Water Treatment Superintendent in the Water Treatment Plants Division, which is responsible for the efficient production and delivery of safe drinking water to all Oceanside residents.

About the position
Under the general direction of the Water Utilities Division Manager, the Superintendent will supervise, plan and coordinate the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, oversee operation of water testing and labs, participate in capital improvement projects related to water treatment facilities, and perform a variety of related tasks. This position is essential to ensuring our dependable water treatment system continues to operate well.

THE POSITION

Under close and general supervision, the Public Safety Dispatcher performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, evaluating, prioritizing, and relaying calls for emergency and non-emergency public safety assistance; dispatches appropriate units and coordinates response of emergency personnel; operates a variety of telecommunications equipment including radio, telephone, and computer aided dispatch systems; performs a wide variety of specialized duties involved in emergency communications; and performs related duties as assigned.
